Discuss Episode 13 of Season 2, "They Reminisce Over You" here.

ANY SPOILERS FOR EPISODES BEYOND THIS ONE MUST BE TAGGED.

So they took the Daredevil storyline and made Luke the [BLACKOUT]Kingpin of Harlem[/BLACKOUT] instead of Hell’s Kitchen. So that’s going to be interesting for season 3. I don’t know how I feel about that because I wanted Daredevil to adapt that storyline in their show.

This feels more like when Angel's crew took over Wolfram and Hart in season 5.

Yeah kinda like that to now that you say it.

After Tilda kissed Mariah on the lips am I the only one who think "OMG they're going to pull a Myrcella being poisoned by a kiss thing"? Like, I can't think of any other reason someone would kiss their mother on the lips like that.

It was weird seeing Luke as the Kingpin of Harlem. It's like seeing Mike Colter play Lemont Bishop again. Even the way he maneuvered the warring gangs was Bishop-ish.

Have to say, it wasn't as uneven as last season, really liked Bushmaster. Started out pretty two-dimensional, but I liked the motivation being stronger than gang beef.

Mariah knew exactly what she was doing leaving Luke in this position. Nice final evil deed from this great villain.

I loved how they ended this. This is a really interesting position to put Luke in. It seems like he and Misty may come head to head in the future, can Luke keep his head on straight? What would Danny and his other friends think? Going to make for some interesting story potential!

Luke may be driving crime out of Harlem here, but that crime has to go somewhere. And I imagine that that "somewhere" is likely Hell's Kitchen. Which is great news for Wilson Fisk, and bad news for Matt Murdock.

Have to say, loved the season overall but both seasons have the same exact problem they're both anti-climatic. By that I mean the climax of the series happens way too early. In the first season the climax happens 10 minutes into the episode (fight with Diamondback) and this one it's worse with the climax happening in the previous episode. That made the final episode all falling action. It was one of two episodes that had me looking at my watch. They had a ton of scenes that felt pointless and somewhat disjointed. Because of that the finale was a let down and boring.

Still overall a great show and I loved how it ended. I like how each 2nd season of the netflix shows disrupts the status quo in some way.

I picked up on it the moment she was mixing the poison, specially when you saw the color of her lipstick.

I think they are treating the 13th episodes as denouements. We got out big Bushmaster throw down in 12. 13 was about establishing the conflicts for the next season.

Cheesy blatant Godfather reference aside, I thought it was an interesting ending but I'm sure that by the end of season 3 we'll see Luke back at Pop's. I also have to imagine that we'll be checking in with him again sooner rather than later in Iron Fist season 2.

Depends on which show comes first, Daredevil season 3 or Iron Fist season 2.

Yeah, that reference was about as subtle as a hammer.

I don't know how likely we are to see Luke pop up in Daredevil. It's possible, but Iron Fist season 2 seems the safer bet. I doubt he'd show up in both.

Well, I liked the finale. Mariah really screwed with Luke in the end. Normally, I think dude could’ve just left the club to Tulsa and she could do whatever she wanted with it (maybe even give it to Bushmaster). Speaking of which, seemed odd that she was so angry about not getting the club when she seems to want nothing to do with the Stokes now.

I understood Luke’s train of thought but he really is just becoming another crime lord. Just without the crime at least directly on his part. Will be interesting to see how that works out for Harlem and other areas.

I was amused at how sure Mariah was that things would work out ok for her but they didn’t. Not even her legacy turned out ok.

Misty... in the back of my mind, I was thinking she would go back to wanting to quit being a cop or something. Maybe wanting to become a private eye and having Colleen join her. But it looks like they won’t go that route and keep her as a cop. At least no more issues with other cops not being “good” in her mind that can influence her or whatever.

Shades... I really thought the whole thing with him and Mariah was just odd but whatever. He’s going back to jail so there’s that.

I liked how things ended for Bushmaster. He tried to reach his goal but it didn’t work out for him and he moved on hoping Mariah would be stopped by Tilda.

Depending on their ratings/metrics, I wouldn't be surprised if they (after LC & IF has their 3rd seasons) condensed Luke and Iron Fist into one "Heroes for Hire" show.

I still don't get that line of thinking. Luke made a deal to keep crime OUT of Harlem. There are more than enough heroes in NY to handle the other boroughs.

With how this ended, I don't see Heroes for Hire being the next logical step. I think LC and IF likely get 3rd seasons before this is possible.

I’m not sure about that. The MCU isn’t exactly full to brim with superheroes like in the comics, especially within NYC. So those crime families are going want to maintain (and likely increase) their profits at some point. That can only spill over into the other boroughs or of course, someone decides to not care what Cage says and comes for Harlem.

Spider-man fights crime in the city. Iron Fist & DD also takes on the same low-level crime. Jessica Jones helps out from time to time too.

Eh... I've never gotten the impression that they fight crime on that kind of level in the MCU, at least not like Cage and he has his limits as just one guy. Haven't seen much of Spidey, Daredevil sticks to his home, Iron Fist only cared about The Hand, Jessica Jones doesn't really care much outside of her cases in which she gets paid.

Plus the Punisher pops up every now and again on one of his kill sprees.
