This post contains spoilers.
The Sebastian Darke trilogy is really good. Lots of humour and classic adventures. I really like old-fashioned treasure hunting.
At the same time the books pose as comedy, they also have an unusual level of violence. Deaths are described very detailed. But it works.
I just can't understand why there are only three books. Other fantasy series for younger readers have more books. There are still a lot of unanswered questions.
-How will the journey to Golmira in the cold north turn out?
-Are Sebastian and Max going back home to Jerabim before the mother dies?
-Will Cornelius ever be defeated in battle?
-Have Jenna Swift and Captain Kidd survived, after all?
-Will Kerin and Sebastian meet again, sometime?
-What is going to happen with Calinestra's treasure?
Since the last book didn't have a happy ending, I think the NEED more more. And I could accept the final adventure to end without any possibility for the heroes to keep on doing what they do. Caveney kan kill off some major character(s).
