Shanghai

Hi everyone,

I just got back from Hong Kong which I adored. Eventually (I'm talking years away) I would love to visit Shanghai.

Has anyone else visited there? What's it like? What would you recommend? Was it easy to find your way around with limited mandarin?

I don't know the city very well, I have only been there once, but it is beautiful and I was surprised at how European certain areas of Shanghai looked.
I would recommend going there around the Spring Festival which is amazing with all the fireworks. I think it is also the time of the seasonal Shanghai Crab which is a delicacy only found for a couple of months. Also I don't speak Mandarin, but my wife is Chinese so that helped.
