Some would anticapate that there is proabaly only a handful of James Bond books which were not made into films and those are probably bad stories explaining their absence from movie adpation.

The truth is that there is roughly twenty more James Bond novels and short stories which have not been adapted. All of which were in fact written after Ian Flemings death.

Surely for the Bond book serious to have gotten up to an additional 20 books with several different authors the books must have been entertaining and thrilling enough for the book series to be sustained all the way up to the present day.

Perhaps some of these books might be worth being adapted before the studios try to come up with more "unique villains"(read as henchman with unrealistic unique attribute(die another day`s diamond face henchman for example) to make them like the bond villain greats ie jaws, oddjob.) and "original schemes"(read as outlandish schemes).

i would losely adapt some of the better stories from writers following in fleming's footsteps.

some of my favorite stories include John Gardner's "For Special Services", "Nobody Lives Forever", and "Win, Lose, or Die".

of the Raymond Benson books the best are "High Time To Kill", "Never Dream of Dying", or "The Man with the Red Tattoo".

the next movie should begin where "Casino Royale" leaves off... with young Bond trying to avenge the death of Vesper Lynn. as he hunts those responsible he finds that there is a big SPECTRE-like organization behind it... leading him into some of the storyline of the gardner or benson novels. this would best unfold slowly as part of a trilogy with bond confronting the head of the terrorist organization in part three.

I have never read any of Benson's novels but I would have no trouble with them doing film versions of any of Gardiner's "Bond" novels. I also wouldn't mind seing them adapt "Robert Markham's" (Kingsley Amis) "Colonel Sun" !

I didn't know there were other James Bond novels

sure, if the remaining novels are any good.

I'd much rather have a good original script instead of a weak Fleming novel...

I have a few Gardner books. Some of them are cheaply thought out and all, but a few might be good as movies if modernized, like CR was.

I'm hoping that the new book, Devil May Care turns out great and gets made into a movie for craig to go out on.
