Shows You Keep Putting Off...

Great thread idea.

I've got more than a few just going off my lists between Netflix, HBO Max and Hulu:

Bojack Horseman
The Good Place
Ash vs. The Evil Dead
The Umbrella Academy
Mare of Easttown
Silicon Valley
Lovecraft Country
The White Lotus
Vice Principals
Chernobyl

Snowpiercer
Deadwood
Reservation Dogs
What We Do in the Shadows (after I watch the movie first)
Peaky Blinders (I have seen a few episodes and need to get back into it)
Fleabag
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel
Ozark
The Queen's Gambit
Hit Monkey

Mind you, I have every intention of watching them...eventually. Some maybe as soon as next week since I'm always downloading shows or movies to watch on my train ride to work and I'm pretty much all out of movies to watch at the moment. Since a good chunk of them are miniseries those should be easy to power through. Basically they've been on my watchlist forever because with the exceptions of maybe The Good Place and Ash vs. The Evil Dead, there's no real danger of any of those shows leaving the platforms which curbs the urgency to watch them as soon as possible.

The Crown, Umbrella Academy, and Cobra Kai are also on my list. Fun fact Cobra Kai was a YouTube Premium exclusive and not a Netflix original which I thought it was. :funny:

Cobra Kai is a show that on paper you would think has no business being as good and popular as it is, but here we are. It's also easy to binge thanks to most of the episodes being about 30 minutes in length.

Series that have already ended:
Mad Men
Silicon Valley
Boardwalk Empire
Six Feet Under
The Shield
True Blood
Vikings

Ongoing Series:
Yellowstone
Euphoria
The Mandalorian
Snowpiercer

I’m embarrassed to say…

Breaking Bad

The Sopranos

The Wire
That's the holy trinity right there. I remember binging those for three consecutive summers. Breaking Bad in 2012 (although there was still one more season to air at that time), The Wire in 2013, and The Sopranos in 2014. I've been tempted to rewatch The Sopranos since seeing Many Saints of Newark but there's still too many shows I haven't seen I want to catch up on first.

I think I stopped watching The Wire in the middle of season 3. No particular reason, I don’t even remember why I stopped. But it’s been years and I’ve forgotten the majority of it (other than the basic storyline)

I keep meaning to check out the Star Trek shows on Paramount +. Anyone recommend them? Are they worth it?

Mad Men
One Piece
Gotham (Season 2 onward)
How I Met Your Mother
Seinfeld

I need some more laughter in my life. Some of my friends are trying to indoctrinate me into Seinfeld.

Big bang theory
Mad Men
Six Feet Under
Vikings
Rescue Me

Ozark is probably the only significant one for for, I've caught up on everything else over the last 2 years.

Game of Thrones was the big one, I put it off until the show was done then binged it hard.

I quit Gotham after the first season. I basically had the same feeling about it that Patton Oswalt had in his standup bit about the Star Wars prequels: I don't care about where the stuff I like comes from, I just like the stuff I like. From what I've heard, the only element that makes it worth watching is Cameron Monaghan's Joker, but even then that's not enough for me.

As for Seinfeld, I've been putting it on in the background and slowly going through the series since it dropped on Netflix. I've seen a few episodes here and there over the years but I figured I might give them all a try. As a Curb Your Enthusiasm fan, it's no surprise that George Costanza is my favorite character since he's basically Larry David's avatar.

Driz, my best friend is a super fan of that show and I always tease him that he and 2 others are the only black people who watch it lol. But man some of the clips I've seen were hilarious, like Elaine and the Braless Wonder, the chick with Man Hands and the girl Jerry dated who always wore the same clothes lol.

My next vacation I feel like I'm just going to fully fall down the Seinfeld rabbit hole.

Ozark
Battlestar Gallactica (2004)
The Sopranos
Mad Men
Snowpiercer
Chuck (last 2 seasons)

I went back and added a few more to my list that I forgot.

Two more that I'm on the fence about are Veep and Mad Men. Mad Men in particular seems daunting because of the episode count.

Now that I finally forced myself to start and eventually finish The Wire, I now need to tackle the other few HBO series I haven't seen, which are Oz, Six Feet Under, and The Sopranos.

Succession is one that I’ve been meaning to get through for awhile.

I was able to scratch The Queen's Gambit off my list, gonna start Ozark on Monday.

*Dusts thread off*

I can cross Ozark off the list!

*Pats self on back*
