What I would give to have Denis direct Metal Gear.

Metal Gear? He'd make a great Batman director.

Denis V. is slowly becoming one of my favorite directors. Dude's the next Paul Thomas Anderson or David Fincher I reckon.

Nice to see you guy's have joined me on the Villeneuve train. We're riding to the top guy's. :o He's not mainstream yet but he'll get there if...scratch that when Blade Runner 2 is a hit. I even suggested a while back WB need's him for the Batman movie.

He's also got another movie out before he get's to BR2.

It's fascinating to hear some people complaining about Emily Blunt's role in this film. The arguments are "amusing."

The only reason is the initial screenplay had a male lead and Denis wanted a female lead. By all acount's she's great in the movie but Del Torro is the MVP so to speak.

eh no tyler sheridans had written the lead as a female. he was the one who was under pressure to change that.

excerpt from the indiewire interview with denis:

There's been a persistent rumor that you were pressured by the studio to change Emily's character into a man, is that true?
Yes and no. It’s a confusion that came from an early press conference. The truth is that Taylor Sheridan, when he wrote the screenplay, it got a lot of interest, but people were approaching him saying, "it’s a great screenplay, but it’s a female character, can you make it a man?" Taylor had the guts to say "no, this is the story I want to tell, she’s a woman for specific reasons and I won’t change the screenplay."

Ah thanks must've heard it wrong but some are pi**ed that the role Emily Blunt got didn't go to a male.

Those people need to grow up and/or **** off.

Wait, people are mad that the main character is a woman?

Is it just me, or are we starting to see more and more complaints about characters in fiction being female, racial minorities, and/or LGBTQ? I mean between this, the whining about LGBTQ characters in the recent Star Wars book, among other things, it seems to be on the rise.

They complaints that I've seen tend to go something like this:

"A ninety pound super woman."

"A woman going up against the cartels and surviving, more Hollywood trash."

"Great, more feminist PC crap."

And so on and so forth.

Oh, those kind of people hate it. That's okay, I'll see it multiple times for them. :o

People want to see white men in movies.

ENEMY is a goddamn masterpiece.

This is getting rave reviews.

From what I gather it seems like Blunt has enough material to be nominated, but Benicio could win in supporting. Hnnngh.
