Sicario

After seeing Sollima's latest film 'Suburra', I've got faith in him. Great film.

This. I just watched Suburra, excellent film. I'm all in on Sollima directing Sheridan's script for Soldado.

Suburra is up on Netflix if anyone wants to check it out.

Josh Brolin is going to dominate next summer.

Much as I don't think Sicario needs a sequel...I'd be lying if I said I wasn't interested in where the story goes from here. Long as it maintains the same tension and suspense from the first film.

This is still my favorite Villenueve to date, with Blade Runner a close second. It was practically a horror film with how tense it was.

Well, at least it's maintaining the feel of the first one, plus Del Toro having no rules this time? That's a good thing. Though I still don't feel Sicario needed a follow-up, this looks very promising.

:hmr: Yes please.

At this point Sheridan has proven his voice comes through regardless of who is directing his script.
Sicario, Hell or High Water, Wind River, and now Soldado (even just from the trailer), all different directors but you can tell the same guy wrote all of them.

Hmmm something doesnt feel quite right about the trailer, they've tried to maintain the aesthetic from the first but it seems to have turned into a more generic action film with gun fights a plenty, if it maintains the tension of the first then great but as a massive fan of the first I'm sceptical after that trailer. Hope I'm wrong mind.

Christmas came early this year. ..

The Godfather didn't need a follow-up

I dunno. I just watched the first one earlier this year after hearing it get hyped up so much and I thought it was good, but nowhere near as amazing as everyone seemed to think so.

I definitely don't need a sequel

Sheridan is the only draw for me. I hope he came up with something interesting, otherwise continuing Alejandro’s story is like a ticking time bomb that’s already gone off.

Had no idea that Taylor Sheridan wrote the script. Color me excited.

Yeah Del Toro, Brolin, and Taylor Sheridan is enough to get you pumped for it.

I'm not getting the skepticism from some folks. Comments like "generic action film" & "didn't need a sequel" don't make any sense. Is it because Villenueve isn't directing?

Or maybe folks just feel it didn't need a sequel? Could be any director, but as has been said, promising as a follow-up can look, not every film needs or warrants a sequel, even IF Villenueve came back to direct.

Compared to the first movie's trailer

Feels like they've added alot more action to the 2nd movie. The first Sicario was very tense.
