Part One: A New Beginning
Linda Lee sighed. Ever since starting work here at the Detroit coffee shop called The Crow nothing spectacular had happened. Oh, there had been sparks with the owner of the establishment, Jacob Finley. But that had died down to almost nothing, and for every plate or cup or saucer that she broke, she had gotten scars on her body. She was afraid of letting someone see how Jacob was treating her. But today was another day and she vowed that she wouldn't let anything drop anymore. Boy, was she in for a surprise today.
Jacob Finley kept close watch over his newest employee... it was strange. This woman had recommended her to him and all he had seen from her so far was more broken plates and cups and saucers than successfully helping customers. So he punished her for it. Hopefully she would learn not to do that anymore. At first it hurt his heart to do something like that to a young woman as beautiful as her... and now that heart had been corrupted, tainted black by his anger for her mistakes. He vowed himself that if she would ever make a dire mistake again, he'd fire her... or worse.
A man with blonde hair and pools of skyblue eyes, dressed in a blue shirt with a red jacket around him and blue pants walked down the street. He was dying for a coffee fix. He wasn't a regular at the Crow that he had set his sights on entering.
The young man stepped through the door, the bells signalling another customer. The place was crowded, yet there was one lone booth where he could sit. The moment the bells rang, Linda Lee looked to the door and froze.. which caused the plates and cups she was holding to clatter to the floor and break, which caused her eyes to go huge.
Ohh no... he's gonna be so mad... was her first thought when the clatter and breaking sounds rang in her ears... Those clothes... he looks so familiar... yet the hair... I don't remember having met a man with blonde hair before... only a young woman...
"Ouch!" She cried when she felt someone grab her arm. "YOU! Supply room, NOW!" her boss bellowed out and pushed her toward the hall where the supply room was situated.
"Jacob, I'm really..." Linda started to say when they were out of earshot and vision, but Jacob had had it and slapped her across her face, hard. "Stay there until I come back and deal with you." And with that Jacob Finley disappeared to take the order of the other customer, but not before grabbing the broken cups and saucers and god what else was on the floor, mopping it up really quick, because time was money... and he hated keeping a customer waiting.
Meanwhile the young blonde man had occupied the lone booth and was waiting for the owner to come over. He was amazed at how he treated his employee. Sure, people would break stuff, but they were only human, right? People make mistakes, only to learn about not to make them again.
"Sorry for the inconvenience, what can I getcha?" The gruff voice of Jacob addressed him.
"That wasn't really nice of you, to treat your only employee like that. Sure, she broke something, big deal. People make mistakes, only to learn about not to make them again."
Inside, Jacob was fuming. WHO was this young man to make assumptions of how he should treat fellow employees. It took all of his self-esteem not to burst out and hit this young man too the way he had hit Linda.
"Yeah, I'm real sorry you had to watch that." he said, suddenly realizing that he had been the problem. Linda had frozen when she had seen him... why? Was he a past lover? An old schoolmate or even a childhood friend? But he wasn't interested in that. No, he was only interested on giving this man his order so he would take off which would give Jacob the chance to punish Linda once and for all.
"Well, next time, go easy on her, okay?" The young man suggested. "Can I have a latte and a cheese sandwich?" he also added to the suggestion. Jacob's hand turned into a fist. NOW also giving advice too?! WHAT ARE YOU? A columnist like 'Ask Phoebe'? He angrily thought as the fist relaxed. "Sure, I'll prepare your coffee and get you a cheese sandwich too!" he said cheerfully. Then he left to make his order.
I'm really gonna get it this time. What's he going to do to me now? It's not like I have a lot of places left where he can bruise me. Linda fearfully thought, still in the supply room.
After a little while, Jacob returned with the blonde man's order. "Here you go, one latte and a cheese sandwich. Enjoy." The thanks didn't even reach the owner because he had turned away from him and went straight to the supply room, his mind set on the last beating of the young woman he had taken in his care. The blonde man began eating his meal and drinking his latte.
"Oh now you've done it, girl!" He exclaimed and slammed her against the wall holding her in a grip that she couldn't fight her way out of. The apron came off and Jacob pressed his muscled clothed body against her. There was a tattooed 'F' on one of his biceps.
Linda whimpered, she wanted to scream out but was sure for 100 percent that he would do anything to keep her mouth shut, while she tried to get out of his grasp. "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry, Jacob!" But it wouldn't make him stop harassing her.
He pulled off her apron and kicked her full in her chest. "You know I like it when you're down on your knees... b*tch." he told her as he pulled her face closer to his zipper. He unzipped his pants and instead of a boxer his erection showed instead. Probably courtesy of listening to too many Justin Timberlake songs and reading too many interviews.
"No... please, Jacob, don't... NO!" She screamed out, only earning her another kick to her stomach. He pulled down her pants and forced himself on her, thrusting in and out of her with no abandon. His hands roughly played with her breasts through her clothes while resuming his other actions.
Meanwhile, the young blonde man had finished with his meal and coffee and had brought the empty cup of latte, the plate of the cheese sandwich to the counter and had just placed some money on the empty plate when he heard a feminine scream.
"Everybody, listen to me, never ever come to this place again. With an owner like this, I wouldn't go back every day." he said to all the people who were still sitting there, hadn't heard the scream. They just stared at him as if he were crazy, or maybe a rival owner of a coffee shop himself.
So the young blonde man got up and went toward the supply room. The screams got louder and louder. Ohh, was this owner gonna get it from him. "JACOB! STOP!" Linda screamed again, which resulted in one of Jacob's hands appearing from her clothes and on her mouth to keep from screaming... stopping the torture on one of Linda's breasts for the time being.
Jan Oramu went for the surprise attack, and pulled Jacob off of Linda and slammed him into the other wall... which resulted in all of the other customers getting up from their seats and running for the door to escape. The fight was escalating, and they didn't want to be there whent the dust settled. He slammed Jacob against the wall again, for emphasis. No matter how muscular the 'F' man was, he went down instantly, blood running from his face and nose. Jan went for Linda's hand and helped her up. "C'mon, we've got to go."
"No... not through there... the customers... I still have my stuff at his place... I don't want to go through the front door... like this..." Tears were streaming down her face, her ***** was bloody. Jan did a quick check of the coffee room. "But nobody's there. They all left." Jan said calmly. Linda looked into his those beautiful pools of skyblue. "Really? You're not trying to embaress me, are you? Do you really take so much fun in letting them see the state I'm in?" She didn't trust him, even though she couldn't help looking into those eyes. "I told him that he needed to treat his employees better, that people makes mistakes only to learn about not to make them again. I save you from being raped and this is how you think of me?" He pulled her out of the supply room and into the main room of the coffee shop. Linda didn't say anything, yet she felt the marks that Jacob had made on her sting. Linda looked around and found not one single customer sitting there.
"Oh... you're right. I'm sorry, I just have trust issues. I thought he was nice, y'know? Was I wrong!" Linda said as she zipped up her pants after pulling her panties back up.
"We have to go. You can stay at my place for now." Jan said and looked back into her green emerald eyes. "I don't even know your name. I'm Linda Lee. Thank you for saving me." Linda said. Going gaga or kissing him on the lips would be too much now. Instead knowing his name would be enough... for now.
"Jan, Jan Oramu. Nice to meet you, Linda... although I would have been happier if we met under different circumstances. Such as you making my latte and grabbing my cheese sandwich other than... well, y'know." he said with an uncomfortable smile.
Linda Lee smiled sadly. "Yeah. It's just that I was so overwhelmed by your appearance..."
Jan wrapped an arm around Linda. "You can tell me all about that later. Right now we need to leave." And with that Jan and Linda left the coffee shop The Crow...
