Release Date: April 11, 2008
Studio: Miramax Films
Director: Noam Murro
Screenwriter: Mark Poirier
Starring: Dennis Quaid, Sarah Jessica Parker, Thomas Haden Church, Ellen Page, Ashton Holmes, Christine Lahti
Genre: Comedy, Drama, Romance

Plot Summary: Professor Lawrence Wetherhold (Dennis Quaid) might be imperiously brilliant, monumentally self-possessed and an intellectual giant – but when it comes to solving the conundrums of love and family, he's as downright flummoxed as the next guy. His teenaged daughter (Ellen Page) is an acid-tongued overachiever who follows all too closely in dad's misery-loving footsteps, and his adopted, preposterously ne'er-do-well brother (Thomas Haden Church) has perfected the art of freeloading. A widower who can't seem to find passion in anything anymore, not even the Victorian Literature in which he's an expert, it seems Lawrence is sleepwalking through a very stunted middle age. When his brother shows up unexpectedly for an extended stay at just about the same time as he accidentally encounters his former student Janet (Sarah Jessica Parker), the circumstances cause him to stir from his deep, deep freeze, with often comical, sometimes heartbreaking, consequences for himself and everyone

Looks like more quirky fun with Miss Page. :woot:

Quaid has been busy, he's aging very sexy like.

I like Dennis Quaid but this trailer did nothing for me.

I saw six trailers before my Rambo showing (this was one of them) and 5 out of 6 turned me off. The Midnight Meat Train? Not a good sign for future movie going.

Ellen Page and Thomas Haden Church?

Dennis Quaid and Sarah Jessica Parker? :down

meh... i think it looks good...

Looks alright. Might see it in theaters, but probably at some point on dvd.

Will Ellen Page ever play a character that doesn't channel Janeane Garafolo or every other sarcastic hipster chick from the last few years? Kitty in X-Men was sarcastic and shy all at once.

I dont see how kitty pryde was sarcastic...sassy maybe with the whole Juggernaut encounter. But not exactly sarcastic.
