So yea, pretty crazy story out of my little town of Murfreesboro.

Last week, there was an instance where the cops were called at like 6am to check out a burning dumpster. When they got there, they found a burning body inside.

Turns out, some dude that I used to work with decided to end it all in a very - questionable way. All of this happened right across the street from my school, and right around the corner from my apartment.

Apparently, the official word is a suicide.

I don't know if that's what REALLY happened, just what officially happened.

Oh wow. That's horrible. That reminds me of a monologue I did in high school using the "inspiration" voice over from Girl Interrupted.

Looks like this guys music was on fire.

yep.

yeah, that's bizarre. how well did you know him?

I didn't know him all that well. Honestly, we didn't get along at work, I always thought that he was kind of a prick.

Tho that's not to say that I wanted him to be found burning in a dumpster somewhere. I don't know what could drive a man to do that to himself, and if there's more to this than we're being told, I can't really think of anything someone could do to deserve that.

Looks like...:word:...he flamed on.

Now with that outta my system, maybe this guy had a mental illness? Depression? If the cops find out anything new, will they update the story online?

yeah, i guess i just find it weird that he lit himself on fire in a dumpster. like was he really worried about containing the fire or something? just sounds fishy. it reminds me of this joke article i came across a couple years ago, talking about this guy who had a price on his head who was found dead of suicide... from "shooting himself in the back of the head twice."

i guess what im saying is, if it was murder, and you did happen to murder him, Nell, you can tell us. We're the internet. We can keep a secret. We're cool like that. :o

I've heard of people setting themselves on fire as a political protest, but never as a form of suicide.

Yeesh, that had to be painful.

A noose, tall building, or gun would've sufficed.

But fire?

Sorry....

You know what burns my butt? Losers using suicide to take the easy way out.

so, your saying you had a motive

if this is our only lead, this case could take all night, I guess, you could say, like our victim, :word: we'll be burning the mid night oil

sorry, couldn’t resist

Reminds me of a suicide video I saw in one of my criminal justice courses many years back.

A passerby with a camcorder pulls off the road to help a guy standing next to a car that was on fire. The guy was in a nice suit and was walking real close around the car. The passerby with the camcorder can be heard on the video trying to warn the guy to not stand so close to the car because it might explode. The guy backs off a bit. The passerby has a friend with him who's calling 911. Those two are talking as he's recording and out of nowhere the guy in the suit jumps in the car, now engulf in flames. They scream in disbelief. By the time the fire fighters get there. The car has no roof top and the fire has almost burned itself out.

The video was from the early 90's.
