So yeah, that's excerpt from the final pages of Robin #150 where Cassandra reappears as the new leader of the League of Shadows. While I've loved the current arc of Robin, I'm really left hating this characterization and new direction for Cassandra.

While the last issue of Batgirl made it obvious she was no longer a Bat-person, I at least hoped she would remain a hero, or at worst, be forgotten for a while. But this, IMO, is really the worst thing that could happen to the character. Granted, it's early, but from these few pages it appears as if Cassandra has been reduced to little more than poor imitation of Shiva.

Is it the League of Shadows? Or have you been watching Batman Begins too much?
I wholeheartedly agree with you Cconn. The only good way to use Cassie(outside of Batgirl, which I think was going well) is to set her up as a Richard Dragon-type mentor/trainer. But don't make her a ****ing bad guy. Put her in Checkmate, Black Kings Knight. Or put her out of her misery. Does anybody remember when the only person that used Lazuras Pits was Ra's al Ghul? Now everybody uses the damn things. Put Barbara in a Laz Pit, give her back that sexy grey bat-suit. BAM I'd buy that for a dollar.

That completely contradicts Cassandra's desire to be Batman's heir

Yeah, I'm in the same boat, I think Robin is better now than it has in a long while, Beechen really surprised me and I'm assuming this was DC directive and not his own "innovation." In a way I can see it as a kind of natural progression given the year away...so it isn't a sudden betrayal...but it doesn't make me like it anymore. :(

Well, the problem with your side of the story is...this technically isn't a villian turn. Rogue turn? Yeah--but Ra's al Ghul and the League of Assassins have always been essentially semi-heroes who are at odds with everyone else.

From what I understood, in the last issue of her book, she accepted herself and her past, saying she could no longer wear the title of Batgirl--the League of Assassins are still vigilanties, the only difference being that they will kill if nessesary.

From what I understand of the last issue, it makes some sense that Cass would reform it and continue on where they left off.
