That's a shame. No see the man pilloried however, we all make mistakes. His credibility will take a hit and it will take some time for him to rebuild trust but this is not insurmountable, UNLESS the media decides it wants to ruin him completely. I'm sure there will be a lot more time wasted on this than is necessary.

I think that most of the people on the Today Show need a good reaming because of how unceremoniously they fired a fine journalist like Ann Curry to produce their fluff headed, supposed "hip" version of the Today Show where they briefly talk about serious issues and then focus on unimportant things like Savannah Guthrie's baby. Seriously, after she came back it seems like every show had something about her baby. I long for the days of more quiet integrity and gravitas that was the Briant Gumball and Jane Pauley era.

I guess it shows a fundamental lapse in brains behind NBC's news programming which has lead to this Brian Williams situation. Seriously, Brian Williams just reports the news. Some mush brained, "Hip" idiot producer(s) is telling him to do this and of course the on air talent will be the one to take the fall for idiot executive decisions.

I don't think anyone is giving him a license to lie but showing that even in this revelation of how badly he lied, Fox News, which some people actually believe are "fair and balanced" have done worse for years with no repercussions.
