I mean except for the ones that pop up on the show. Kara said they were regarded as the wisest civilization in the galaxy. The friggin' galaxy and they were all homebodies who stayed on their planet til it blew up. All except for a baby, a teenaged girl, a robot and some lackeys.

You'd think there would be Kryptonian colonies elsewhere in the universe besides Earth.

Even if they're the most advanced civilization in the galaxy, there's no telling whether or not they had the technology to colonize planets. Not to mention ships big enough to transport colonies.

It's not that simple.

The reason they stay on their planet, the reason their species could not reproduce, the reasons they did not spread out because of their inward thinking on society, black zero.

Loads of reason of why Krypton was the way it was.

See here is where I wish they explained more of Krypton's laws and rules. Because if you go off of Man of Steel they were not allowed to do space travel after sometime but if you go off of Birthright they were allowed to do Space travel and all that other good stuff. Which would explain why there are a few of them running around in the comics right now.

That phantom zone. Like I said there are loads of factors that stop Kal El from being the last of his kind.

Agreed which is why I am still looking forward to the final half of Action Comics: Last Son of Krypton story arc. :(

like lenny off of mice and men

not biologically. but, in their hearts they were.

yay !!! lol i should not of had that coke (a drink not a drug)

oh ive been checking sky1 waiting for it to start god damn you rupert murdoch !!!!

the simple answer, and the undeniable definition is this: Kal'el, is the last born kryptonian. He is the last son of krypton. this in no way states that he is the last of his kind.

as we've seen, there are the numorous kryptonians in the phantom zone. There's Kara, and as far as I know, only one other living Kryptonian: Mon'el, the kryptonian astronaut.

he doesn't have to be the last of his kind, to be the last son of krypton. He merely has to be the last purebred kryptonian male.

why are the kryptonians extinct? there have been numerous reasons.
1) at one point kryptonians were not allowed to leave krypton
2) at another point, kryptonians could not leave krypton, because they would die upon leaving. Kal, and Kara being the two cured of the disease or whatever was keeping them on krypton
3) in STM, jor'el wanted to put the kryptonian civilization into the phantom zone, in order to retreive them when a chosen champion had brought them all to earth, and freed them: That's why Jor'el was always going on about pride in STM
and so many more.
