Just wondering, how long do you think till violence breaks out in the middle east again (Israel vs others), cause it's gonna happen again soon.

Soon I bet, maybe in the next few months.
The Cease-fire is probably just allowing Israel or Lebanon to create a new strategy.
The U.N., like the League of Nations, doesn't seem to have any real power and it looks like they will only give them a slap on the wrist when they do something wrong, instead of a nice, hard slap on the behind

I'm not even sure I give it a couple of weeks.

And I agree with you on the UN. It isn't going to stop a new surge in violence.

The Carter doesn't give a damn anymore

as far as I'm concerned, as long as they leave me out of it, they can kill each other all they want. They're acting like petulant children, and we should treat them as such, by ignoring there outbursts, and possibly dropping nuclear weapons on them just like my old man used to do to me :o

I don't give a damn either, unless they bring it to my home country, then I will be pissed and be ready to kick some ass.

This sort of thing never really stops; it just slows somewhat and then is re-ignited.

Eliminating religion is the only way those two groups or fighting in general would ever stop.

The good news is that the US's participation in the Middle East is mellowing out a bit. In all likelihood, things will quiet down for us, so we don't lose more people. I believe we are getting a handle on things in Iraq, and after this administration, there will be a move to bring the troops back.

Even though I'm one of the few people that actually respects TSOG (I really do believe in conspiracies), he won't know this. It's too much of a personal war and it can flare up (and probably will) without any warning, which is the norm out there.

You're right, it never stops and won't. I predict it based on this quote: "When they say peace, sudden destruction comes upon them."

Religion is a main reason for wars out there, but there's other factors too, like a ton of personal hatred between groups.

The Big 5 really screwed over the UN. There really needs to be reform for the Security Council

1. Get rid of the veto power, have a 2/3 majority

2. Add in Japan, Canada, Italy, and Germany to become permanent members along with the United States, United Kingdom, France, Russia, and China.

3. Make sure that the UN actually has backbone. Punish those who break international law and make sure that the resolutions passed actually get done.

I doubt the US will ever back off as they are one of the leading nation's of the world. Kinda the police state (country) of the world.
