The Amazing Spider-Man 2 So Oscorp is basically Shinra

Fitting, considering some of the aesthetics in this franchise remind me of Final Fantasy VII (well, the city anyways).

Much as I love Final Fantasy VII, it's possible they just watched Spectacular Spider-man.

Not denying that, just saying the idea of an evil corporation being the root of all evil is the same (along with a lot of other things obviously).

I will say it beats what the Raimi movies had going on with every villain being the result of a science experiment gone horribly wrong.

Seems like I'm the only one who thought that was lazy.

I think it shows thought on the parts of the writers. They planned this out.

Though I may end up taking that back, if they just turn every villain into a random guy given a suit by Oscorp.

But Spectacular Spider-man pulled it off pretty good.

spectacular spider-man had more villains that didn't originate from oscorp than those that did

Well that's unfair. Spectacular was a show, not a movie. And it had its share, with Norman Osborn / Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus, Vulture, Sandman, Rhino... am I forgetting anyone?

I think they've done reasonably well for a movie. You can't keep having random lab accidents turning people into supervillains.

Never played that game, but this is certainly inspired from Spectacular Spider-Man. I love the idea of Oscorp being the "tower of babel." And I'm sure we'll get more villains that don't originate from Oscorp, such as Rhino.

FFVII is overrated. I like the role they're giving OsCorp. That viral article on the homepage sounds quite promising.

We know that Rhino isn't from Oscorp, but it looks like he will probably work for them in the long run. I don't think every villain will be created by Oscorp, but they will somehow tie back to the "evil corporation."
