As a hardcore fan of the first season and someone who (in hindsight) regretfully watched this show until the very end, was this miniseries worth watching? And I also thought that season 4, though flawed, was a better season than 2 and 3.

Dexter....The last season ruined the whole show for me tbh

I enjoyed it. It would have been better if they hadn't killed Claire off and if they gave it a conclusive ending, but taken on its own terms, I thought it was pretty good. I liked a number of the new characters, in particular Emily, Malina, Tommy, Erica, Luke...

My feelings of the original seasons seem to mostly mirror your own, heroes season 1 is one of the best first seasons for a tv show of all time. As for this mini series, I dropped it about 7 or 8 episodes in and nothing about it has compelled me to see the rest.

I have similar feelings about the original series. I was very much compelled to finish the series, and I felt it was a solid entry, on par with Season 4 at least.

That said, the world is tired, so it's hard to deal with the universe knowing what it was in Season 1 of the original series. But, at the same time the end was very satisfying to me, and I feel as though it resolved the meta-textual problems with Heroes in a way that allowed me to see the narrative as complete.

No.

I was engaged for the first few episodes, but after a little while, each episode felt like a chore. It honestly makes me wonder how Kring or whoever convinced NBC to bring it back, even in a limited capacity. I don't know that anyone was clamoring for it to come back but I figured that the fact that it did meant they had something really good cooked up. They didn't. Especially the Katana Girl stuff. Even in a genre that lends itself to the fantastical, that was just too far-fetched and stupid to buy. I did enjoy "Evil Chuck" though.

It was probably NBC's idea to bring it back, as a way to get into the super hero game. It just didn't work, because nobody passionate had any competence to do it.
