do you use them and if so what ones and why, or do you not. do you have any preference on the whole subject love/hate/don't care.

Used Facebook for a while but it got old fast. Not to mention it was putting me in touch with people from my past who I had no interest to ever talking to again. Oh and some *****e from my wife's past kept trying to hit on her via their private messaging...

I use facebook for personal stuff, and I still use my myspace to keep up with the bands I listen to. For their tour dates and music updates.

Facebook

i used to use myspace and friendster, also im looking at twitter

I use this thing called IRL. Also the Hype!.

yea i forgot that forums are also considered social network site, in that case

Facebook
SHH! Forum
PWR Forum

I use to think that I was too "cool" for social networking. Hadn't a page of any sort up until this year when my brother, who is in Oz, asked me to sign up to Facebook in order to keep in touch. And god damn, I had no idea how great social networking is. Don't get me wrong I'm not one of the popularity people who have 200+ friends. I just never realised how great it was to keep in touch with people that I lost contact with or who I rarely see.:yay:

I think Social Network is brilliant. I have connected with friends I haven't seen since I was 7.

If I haven't seen a friend in that long generally there's a good reason. If my friends can't make the effort to call me or send me an email then I really probably don't want to keep up with them.

I'm not Facebook. I don't use Myspace anymore. It's for children.

Losing contact with someone doesn't necessarily mean they didn't want to be your friend man. I've had plenty of friends who moved away years and years ago but we were too young and naive to realise we wouldn't see each other ever again. Thanks to Facebook, I have got in touch with all these people and it's been really amazing getting to know them and vice versa again.

I get your point... but do you have anything in common with those people?

I have facebook... I had myspace for a few years, but stopped once the content got too flashy... took forever to load. Not worth the time.

It's become over-run by children but i thought it used to be a decent site to meet people.

Yup........in fact I'm going out with one of the people I got back in touch with. Thankfully she didn't move that far away so 40 minute trips are all it takes to see each other.

I created myspace/facebook accounts but ONLY to check some of my friends' pics. Years ago, I did use msn spaces (does it qualify as social network?) for a while. Like, 10 seconds.

Whoa. Cool. Congratulations!

i have facebook and myspace but rarely check into either

I only use Facebook. I experimented with Twitter, but it's kinda useless to me.

I think Facebook is pretty invaluable, especially amongst the college network, keeping up with friends, events, and such.

I use facebook and myspace. Facebook for friends, myspace for comedians, bands, and one night stands

A few of my friends and family members have asked me, several times, to open a Facebook account but... I don't know, I don't find the need to do it since all those people have my e-mail address and telephone number and mailing address. I told them if they want to contact me, shoot me an email or pick up the phone and call me.

So, no, I don't use any of them. Do I hate them? Not at all. I am sure they benefit a lot of people. I just don't see how they'd benefit me.
