Me and a few friends run this little site called Halloween Blues. Recently this advertising company approached us about putting up some Halloween related banners on our site. Now, we don't get heavy traffic, but around Halloween time we do pretty well. This company is offering us $25 to put up a small banner from July to November.

None of us have ever dealt with advertisers before, but that seems pretty low to us. Especially since it's a 4 month contract. So I just wanted to get the opinion of some of you hypesters, maybe some of you have dealt with advertising companies before and can shed more light on this subject for me. Is it a good deal? And how do we make sure it's a legit offer so we don't wind up screwing ourselves over?

I think it's low balling. I would work a flat rate of around $10 a month and then for every click registered from your site you get so much.

At least 25 a month for sure.

$25.OO per month & ask for a written copy of the agreement to be mailed to you through the postal service or email.

Put it in these terms....someone wanting you to do something for a 4 month period and only offering you 25 bones for the entire timeframe is already a red flag.

Ask for like $10 per 100 clicks on top of lets say $20 a month.

If you want 25 a month start off by asking for 35 and work your way down. Win-Win situation.
