Just now noticing this...the lens flares in this movie. They aren't just lens flares. There are all these great shots where the sun itself creates a sort of lens flare, peeking through the clouds, some blinds, at a distance, etc. And when these shots happen, the sun sort of gives everything a "shine" or a brilliant visual.

It's like the sun is a character of its own. :)

I really liked that aspect visually.

Yeah, I get you ! There's a great lens/solar flare in the transition when
Zod looks up (after he's murdered Jor El) at the Council attack ships that
are telling him to drop his guns.
He looks into the glare of the light which blanks out the screen with flare
and then resolves into Rao (Krypton's sun) with Black Zero in the foreground.

That's my favourite transition in the film ( on the big screen the Sun with the black ship in the foreground just looks awesome).

Coolness ! :super:

The solar flares were actually pretty well done in this movie...I agree, the sun was almost a character in and of itself

@The Guard commented on a beautiful part of the film. The focus on the Sun is appropriate because it is one of the popular linkages with Superman (with it serving a power source and him being refracted as a Sun-God, in some of the connected media.) :-)
