Lego!

:loco: Didn't knew they were a hot seller

I would love to comment accurately on this, but I'm afraid that C Lee would come in and make a ridiculously hyperbolic conspiracy theory to my post.

So I'll pass.

My first reaction was to criticize the thief for not even having the good taste to steal high quality toys, but the article actually made me feel sorry for the victim. Losing a collection that he's had since he was 5 had to be soul-crushing. This sounds like a case of someone, probably an acquaintance, trying to emotionally wound the victim as well as burglarizing the home.

Weirdly enough there are a bunch of items related to collectible hobbies worth more than most electronics or jewelry. That nerd that plays Magic the Gathering might have a collection worth more than most of our cars.

I probably have about $2,000 worth in technic pieces/motors alone in my collection. Some pieces go for quite a bit.

Legos are obscenely expensive. You'd think they have nuclear physicists working there on payroll to justify the prices.

Makes sense to me. My ex girlfriend has a complete set of Indiana Jones Legos and those are only going to go up in value.

makes me think of that episode of big bang theory when they got robbed... Sheldon was listing all the stuff that got taken an I'm just looking around the apartment at all the expensive collectables that they left behind... thinking to myself those must have been the worlds dumbest criminals
