I think they picked the right man for the job. Kevin Spacey is a terrific actor. Ya, he could of been little more sinister,but I think he did a wonderfull job.
Ed Norton,is a good actor,but I dont think as Lex it would fit his role. Mickeal Rosenburgg,is a good lex for Smallville,but for movies I don't think he would fit very well(sorry I mispelled his name I know).

Smallville has become a joke in recent years but the guy who plays Lionel Luthor remains constant as one of the greatest Lexs ever even better then the guy in lois and clark they should have used him instead as Lex and made him the head of Lexcorp the cheap luthor in SR was one of the movies low points.

John Glover would be an excellent LEX Luthor, to bad it won't happen because of Smallville.

Jaquin Phoenix and Jason Isaacs, with an American accent, would both be better Lex Luthor's than Kevin Spacey.

Well I think Kevin Spacey could have been excellent. I keep thinking he's a brilliant actor, the depth of his character in "usual suspect" and the incredible subtilities of his in "american beauty" make me think he could have been great. But I think the funny-Donner-Lex Luthor is not a good way to deal with the character.
But I keep thinking that K.Spacey playing Lex ala J.Shea/C.Brown/M.Rosenbaum would have been very good.
