I was playing Pokemon Silver last night and saved it (I restarted it due to this problem), and when I restart the game, it says save file is corrupted

I really need help like a save data remover code or something...because out of Pokemons I own (Yellow, Gold, Silver, and Leafgreen)...THIS IS MY FAVOURITE AND I NEED HELP STAT!

Pweese...:(

This happened to me on Blue. Then I had 149 pokemon (even had Mew). Sorry, but there is pretty much nothing you can do.

Are you sure?...I loved Silver.

So do I have to get a replacement from eBay or something? I mean, I have Gold, but Silver was just the best...:(

It is usually an error in the circuitry or the internal battery that does this....and yup, it means you'll have to get a replacement copy.

Sorry.:csad:

Can I actually play that ON my GameBoy?

:(:(

Although that's probably the best option as it is legal because I own a copy.

Alright, I found this on wikipedia:

Glitches and Internal Battery Failure

A common problem found in the second generation of games is a problem with the internal battery after roughly six years. The internal battery is located inside of the cartridge which allows the game to save the user's progress. Many people have reported that their games no longer save due to this problem. It is possible to fix this, but the cartridge must be opened and the battery must be taken out, and a new battery must be soldered in. The battery is similar to model CR2025, which can be purchased at any electronics store. However, the internal battery has small conductive tabs soldered to its exterior, and are difficult to remove from the original battery. The correct battery, complete with tabs and insulator, is part number P223-ND and can be ordered at DigiKey.com, and is cheaper when buying in multiples.

Occasional reports indicate the “Mystery Gift” feature may become unavailable. Changing the text speed in the options menu can reportedly fix the problem.
