Hey, I know, not everyone's favorite scene, not mine either, but I was wondering if anyone knew what song evil pete is dancing to. I don't think it's on the soundtrack... unless I missed it. Thanks

:spidey:

If you're talking about when he's dancing in the street, the song is titled "People Get Up And Drive Your Funky Soul" by the one and only James Brown.

It is featured on the James Brown 1988 compilation "Motherlode" as well as in the soundtrack to the 1973 film 'Slaughter's Big Rip-off'.

IMO, a nice subtle homage by Raimi to the late, great Godfather of Soul, if this was intentionally done...

As for the jazz club scene, it's obvious that's just a jazzy rendition of 'Fever'...

lmao! :D i just LOVE that scene. it cracks me up evry time :p

People take that scene way too seriously. I loved it. Funny as hell.

Just understand that he's not supposed to be cool...he's just a dork. He's having a good time in his life and feels REALLY good.

But when dorkiness > character development...

I'm sorry. Our history class teaches us stuff like...I don't even remember because I just don't care that much.

Did anyone else notice that he bought that new suit off a clearance sale? He was completely uncool, and he bought a cheap suit. I love it. :oldrazz:

well he's still Peter Parker, which means that he's broke. I'm surprised he didn't get a suit from the Thrift shop. lol

Lol. Didn't notice that before... anyone else tired of people calling Peter emo?

Sure, he had the hair cut- but that doesnt make him emo.

Peter is more funky town Peter Parker getting down with the funky music and jazz.

This scene never gets old... it's GREAT! I really love, don't know exact words, linking the symbiote to the 70s in this scene.

I remember first hearing that jazz version on "Married With Children" sometime in the past couple years. Kelly Bundy pulls off a seductive dance when she was supposed to tap dance (to a different song I assume).

I thought it fit well with the movie, I mean, people act like raimi thought that was cool, I believe he knew that pete was looking dumb, the entire point was to show how the suit can affect him and make him do dumb things, like a drug, and the looks on the faces of the passing women clearly showed that raimi wanted him to look dumb. I liked the scene, but I did not like the jazz club scene. O well, everyone likes different things.
