Songs they should use for The Batman (2021)

I wonder if they lean into the Grunge thing for the whole trilogy, Something In The Way is pretty synomous with this film, it would be odd to leave behind that association

As long as the music suits the mood of the film, you can go with a few different genres really. Grunge itself is just a marketing term coined by the music business and later adopted by the fashion industry to sell records, clothes, etc. Truth be told, most of the bands that came to be associated with that label have far less in common than the average consumer realizes. Basically, they all just came from the same place. Take Nirvana. Those guys are more of a punk band akin to Killing Joke or the Pixies. Nothing like, say, Pearl Jam. Then there's Soundgarden, one of the most versatile rock bands to ever come out of the Pacific Northwest — w/ musical styles that range from classic rock to sludge metal to blues to psychedelia.

That said, everything from his use of the Nirvana track to his visual take on Pattinson's Bruce (a good while back, I noted that the hairstyle is especially common for rock musicians of any era) to his recent description of the character as a 'recluse rock star' type indicates that Reeves' creative process was strongly informed by his musical sensibilities. So more gloomy rock music for the sequels is certainly not out of the question.

South Park recently had an episode that made me remember Gary Numan had some newer songs that would've totally fit this Batman. It even says "I am Vengence."

If Reeves did keep with the Nirvana influence, the track "Dumb" would be very apropos. Especially if they play up Bruce having to thrust himself into the world of socialites/dealing with the board members of Wayne Enterprises, and feeling disgusted by having to put on a facade.

That's just a few stanzas, but the entire song could be very fitting for the next film if they indeed go in that direction.
