Seen the third trailer, Routh's acting seems stilted and forced. Not impressed at all.

The worst bit was his delivery of this line:

"Think it's only fair that I answer those people."

Awful. 0 out of 10 in my opinion for that line. Check it out. Stilted, flat. Terrible. :down

He looks the part but his acting - bleh. I hope it's just one bad scene and he's better in the rest of the film. But I can't see Routh coming close to Reeve's version. Routh will be an embarrassment if he can't act better than that. For his sake, I hope he can.

no big deal. i hope that in 20 years you will get a sueprman that you like.

So where did you see Routh's acting? We're all jealous.

I'm not a huge Superman fan - just a fan of enjoyable sci-fi films. I believe Routh was sacked from a soap for bad acting? If this is true, Singer shoudn't have cast him.

But let's wait and see the final film. The odd bad line won't matter if the rest of his acting is decent. But it's a worrying sign when you see acting of that poor quality in a big budget movie. And made worse when the guy saying the line is the star!

watch the movie first dude, then your statements can have a bit more weight.

that goes for everyone here btw.

Seriously, where are you people seeing this acting? Because I want in.

its pretty flat in two minutes..

I suggest we all watch the movie first..

hes acting better than jackman did in the x3 trailer.. IMO.

If Routh is like that through out most or all of the film then Singer and the casting people at Warners are to blame. I think most people can tell when someone sounds natrual and when they don't. It's not that difficult to know when a line sounds natural and when it sounds as if the actor is reading it off a screen!

But I don't want to labor the point because it's best to wait until the film is out and we can see Routh's entire performance.

Routh isn't going to spout one-liners throughout the entire film. Trailer's ain't meant to show shakespeare style-acting, they're meant to grab attention. Short, memorable lines grab attention, not emotional monologues.

He sounds like Tim Daly during that part with lex in the fortress when he calls him an old man. Agree with me!

That line was... the first thought I had was "what the f? that's hayden christensen, get him out of here..." But it's out of context. The stiffness might have been done on purpose there.

So I say...

wait for it...

yes i know superman .... but i meant from what i hear so far...

although i cant say his acting is the worst... its far superior than lois lanes lines

A quote from empire magazine from Singer..

Bryan : "ive seen hundereds of audition tapes and i watched brandons.. i brought him in for another test with kate..other actors acted the part..brandon became it in his audition."

I don't like acting when people ..... pause.... all... the........ time. Routh doesn't act like that, does he?

I hope not.

I want everyone to admit how much routh sounds like tim daly. RIGHT NOW. do it.

Routh's delivery of "it's not easy keeping secrets" (or something like that) was also very poor and stilted. Signs are not looking good, folks!

you don't know?

Oh you don't know....

He's Superman!! *****!!!
