It's that time of year again. Chill in the air calls for some warm goodness in the belly.
What's your favorite, do you make your own or is the can opener your best friend?

I like to make my own and the canned are good, too much sodium but I love it so. I like to make chicken corn chowder and chicken soup/stew. Some times I'll buy store made chili and throw on some cheese and sour cream and chow down with tortilla chips or some corn bread crackers. :orgasm:
The canned goodness: italian wedding soup (mercy), lentil (), new england clam chowder (I need to make this) and beef stew ( I make it sometimes).

I make different soups atleast two times a week,my favorites being morel, tomatoe basil and butternut squash, all of which are my own recipes that have caught on quite well.

The coldest it's been here all fall is like, 63 degrees.

At night.

But I do love me soup/stew/chowdah.

And some tzarinna.

I'm from NE and i've nevah had new england clam chowdah. (yes i really talk like that)

i make a pretty good beef stew but my chili...... watch out people love it

I had butternut for the first time last thanksgiving, so good.

My mom makes the most AMAZING homemade chicken noodle soup.

Nothing like moms cooking, although I've never had my moms cooking. Grandma was an excellent substitute. She threw in veggies from her garden, talk about fresh.

Mercy, you must get on that. :yay:

McMahon: You are CORRECT, sir!

There is a restaurant in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee called "The Old Mill", and it makes THE BEST Corn Chowder in the world. OMG, I want some now...

There's a franchise here, American cafe, that use to have the grandest crab-corn chowder. They've omitted it from their menu. :cmad:

I wonder how good the soup actually was from the Soup Kitchen Intl.

It's a mainstay at the old mill, it is one of the soup's served with every meal....they serve it with corn fritters, and honey butter. Damn, I have to wait until Thanksgiving....

Ah, I don't know what I'm going to do for Thanksgiving.
I don't feel like hosting and I don't feel like being around screaming kids.

Well, we have a few little ones running around....but my dog takes care of them, he's a great toy.

I have tons of toys and that's the problem. I had to get rid of my desktop zen garden cause friends kids just couldn't resist ****ing with it. I almost lost a tie fighter pilot cause of the little rug rats. Don't get me started on my R2D2 robot. I shouldn't have to hide my **** when people come over.

not sure I've ever had Chowdah. Also I wanted to make a joke using chowder that people could recognize as a Simpsons reference(the ep. with Mayor Quimby's nephew) but I couldn't think of one, so I ended up explaining it now by the time this sentence is over.lol. lame.:csad:
