Let's all just admit it. Comic book movies are beginning to wane. Spider-Man 3 will be the last great comic book movie... even better than The Dark Knight.

We've rode this geek wave long enough and should be happy with what we got:

But now these movies have just oversaturated the market and the quality of stories will just get crappier and crappier. That is a fact of EVERY genre of films throughout the ages. There is a period of tremendous movies coming out for a particular genre, then there are too many, writing and acting suffers and then they go bye-bye.

MARK MY WORDS!

Don't get too cocky. There are still a lot more quality comic-book movies to be made.

Iron Man
300
The Dark Knight
Sin City 2
TMNT
Transformers
Hellboy: The Golden Army

Just to name a few...

USMC, you have just turned into my enemy

Batman franchise becomes better and better and BB is one of the best superhero movies

So I don't think Spidey 3 will be better than TDK.

There are also such intersting superheroes asIron Man or the Flash, so it is just dumb thread :down

Um. Batman Returns. Batman Forever. Batman & Robin.

The same will happen to the new franchise. And it will happen to Spidey. WHY? Because the original cast and crew will NOT be playing the roles of superheroes for the rest of their careers.

Give Spidey a new director and a new cast and it will be anarchy. Fanboys will be pooping in their pants in outrage.

My point is this: there can be as may big names and special effects as you want, but without a quality STORY, the movie will be junk. Hollywood is (for the most part) not into quality stories when it comes to big budget films.

Oh, and Hellboy sucked donkey balls and TMNT looks like a 5 year olds dream.

Cowabunga, let's time warp back to the 80's. I miss Corey Feldman. :(

How can you say that? The new franchise is in the best hands it could be in! There is no way in hell the new franchise could end up like the last.:o

I remember the day Batman opened in theaters. How old were you then? It was frigging BATMAN EVERYWHERE. Tshirts, watches, cereal, toilet paper, etc. EVERYWHERE even before Batman:TAS came out. It was crazy. That first Batman at that time was absolutely BRILLIANT. Everyone loved it, EVERYONE. Looking back, there are alot more people who critisize it, comparing it to the myriad of comic movies that have come out since. And as "immune" as everyone thought that franchise was because of the "good hands" it was in, look what happened.

THAT'S probably why nowadays actors sign at least 3 picture deals before agreeing to be a superhero star... so the studio doesn't have many of the same problems with the Batman franchise.

Budgets will get bigger, actors will get complacent, and directors just won't care. It happens in EVERY genre of film. And it is happening to this one as well.

And just to re-iterate:

TMNT = a pile of poo.

Sure there is a boom in the number of comic book movies coming out and a great majority of them aren't worth seeing, but there will always be the few decent ones coming out every so often.

It's like that with a lot of genre's. Lots of crap and a few films a year worth seeing. We're spoiled for choice of films these days, but only a few are worth it. This isn't news and not a reason to cry 'oh god now everything will suck'.

Plus, TDK is unlikely to top SM:3. BB was a good movie, but not great by any means.

UHHHH.....

Nolan leaves Batman franchise, then WB will wait for new director to make the new beginning in another 10-15 years.

I doubt they will use some guy like Schumacher this time.

And BB has already proved that only Nolan can end the new trilogy.

The same with Spidey franchise.

And if new Batman franchise repeats mistakes of previous movies, then BB3 will be the best.

Really? All of them? I'd really like to ask Osama Bin-Laden and Suddam Hussien if they did. Don't think I'd get the same answer from them. :p

Thank god I'm not alone in that. The hugest black spot on that movie, IMO, was Katie Holmes. God, she's such a horrible actress.:down

Wow, didn't see that coming.

Batman Begins was better than Spider-Man & Spider-Man 2. COMBINED.
