Comics Spider-Man in the 60's

This also explains how the quality of the restoration for the Omnibus is a vast improvement over the Masterworks editions.

When Mike Kelleher first began reconstructing artwork for the Masterworks books, he did all his work digitally. The results were amazing, but he felt that they were too "smooth" and "mechanical" looking when compared to the pages shot from original film. The simple remedy was to recreate the images in ink on paper, at twice the printed size, just as the original artists did almost 50 years ago. The result is a much truer representation of the original printings.

Its not really an amazing or ground breaking issue or anything, but I've always had a soft spot for the issue (I've forgotten which but I know it was during the Lee/Ditko days) where Spidey crashes the Human Torch's party and provokes a fight and ends up tangling with the entire Fantastic Four.

I think that was issue #8 and it was illustrated by Kirby

In short the Spider-Man comics in the '60s, particularly in the Lee/Romita Sr. era, was the highlight of Spidey comics. The golden era. The era that Raimi pulls from.

Classic.

Though the '70s and '80s had great eras too, though.

Nothing beats the 60's comics. Period. The 70's and 80's were great for the most part, too. Some of the 90's stuff was good, but very little of it. The 2000's have been unkind for Spidey stories though. They are terrible.

the 1960's and 1970's Spider-man Comics were awesome!. Even though my favorite villian is Venom and my favorite storyline was the Symbiote storyline, the 1960's and 1970's always had amazing storylines. I'm a die hard Spidey Comic fan and I have read every issue of the Comics and when I read the 1960's and 1970's era of the Comics, I thought they were amazing and great. I want this book and I think I saw it in the Comic Book store, but it was too much money.
