I like how the tiny pumpkin mask makes that person’s hands look ****ing massive.

If they're going to bring back a villain from another Spidey universe, bring back Thomas Hayden Church's Sandman.

But I have no interest in seeing Foxx's Electro again, but I'm sure he's going to be portrayed different here than he was in TASM 2. I hope:hehe:

All this means to me is that we are closer than ever to seeing Tobey again and that's all I want:hrt:

Is Dafoe coming back? You really can’t beat him as Norman. The costume was the only downside

Hell yes please bring Thomas Haden Church back as Sandman. He was easily the best thing about Spider-Man 3 IMO and if any character deserves a second shot its him. I'm actually all for Foxx and Giamatti coming back as well as long as they have a good script to work with.

I really do hope that after Multiverse of Madness we so see Holland's Spider-Man crossover with Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield since it already looks like Hardy's Eddie Brock is going to be meeting him pretty soon anyways. Now, if they also decide to bring back Dafoe with a much better Green Goblin costume than oh boy are we in for something special.

Thomas Haden did give a fine performance as Sandman, and looked the part. But I don't know if he has aged a bit since.

Aside from Molina or Dafoe returning as others have mentioned, I wouldn’t have minded Dylan Baker coming back, as I always felt bad that he never got to become the Lizard like he wanted.

But then again, we got to see the character on film. Plus, Baker might be a bit too old now.

Just saw the news of Foxx returning as Electro!?

Didn't see that coming, but then again, I didn't see Keaton returning as Batman either so , goes to show, never say never in Hollywood.

I didn't like Foxx's Electro in ASM 2, but the guy is a good actor ,and Feige is not gonna make him look like a fool the way Avi Arad and Sony did, so I'm all for them letting Foxx be the badass villain we all know he can be.

I've had a feeling for a while that Sony wanted to get Maguire, Holland, and Garfield together.

This may not be that moment but I wouldn't be surprised if this type of casting is paving the way for familiar faces from the franchises past to return in one form or another.

Teaming up the live-action Spidey's is a guaranteed BO smash, I don't want to get my hopes too high with this new SM3 as I don't think they're going all the way with that just yet but I think it's certainly on Marvel/Sony's radar for their upcoming plans.

I mean we've already got an actor from the Raimi movies and from the Webb movies being integrated on some level now and the Multiverse of Madness movie is coming soon along with Kang, which I think is kind of speaking to Marvel's priorities these next few years with what they're doing.

Doing a Sinister Six comprised of villains from 3 respective Spidey's worlds would certainly be an inspired way to fill out that roster on screen finally and be a worthy event to team the Spidey's up.

1. This doesn't make any sense.
2. Jamie Foxx wasn't even a good Electro. It was one of the worst villains of the franchise and one of the worst performances by such a high level actor.
3. This was the movie that tanked the Spider-Man movie franchise and caused Sony to make a deal with marvel.
4. What the frell is going on?

This is...unexpected. I'm sure everyone from the ASM series was under contract for more than one film. But with the way the last MCU movie ended, you'd think they'd resolve the hanging threads(Gargan wanting revenge, spidey outed, etc) before going into something this big. Electro is probably the worst screen villain so far, so this is bold. I'll need more details, but for now, I'm befuddled.

Bold isn't the word I'm thinking. If there's truth to this, it sounds absolutely stupid. Why not just do your own Electro? You aren't obligated to do the Jamie Foxx version at all, who was not a good villain.

I think it all depends on what Hollywood Reporter means by "reprising" the Electro role.

Yes, Foxx may be playing the Electro character again, but it may not be the same version of Electro from the ASM films.

Simmons isn't playing the same JJ from the Raimi films ,so the same may hold true for Foxx in SM3.

Oh, man. Never getting to see Dylan Baker's Lizard is one of the most disappointing things in the genre for me.

He was a perfect Curt Connors.
Dylan Baker would make an excellent Ventriloquist in a Batman movie

You would be more likely to get TASM Lizard. to do a cross over with these universes would be more the point of what they already have. not to give something that never got to see.

I can't see this being a multiverse situation, but if it isn't, I can't see why they'd bring Foxx back. It's not a JK Simmons situation where pretty much nobody can play the role.

I like that Electro is being given another shot in live action though. Obviously felt they didn't do right by him in TASM2 and say what you want about MCU Spider-Man, but the villains have been a high point.

Marvel have avoided reusing villains. as much as people wanted to believe marvel wanted their own shot at all the villains. the point seems to be about not doing it again because its already been done.

Which is also why we got a new MJ too. one thats not really MJ but a new character called MJ. That version of MJ, no matter what you thought of her, was already done.

I hope it's literally the ASM2 version coming back, I would laugh so hard.

That may have been their plan before, but plans can change.

I always assumed they wanted to use villains which hadn't been used yet first, not that they wouldn't ever go back to using Doc Ock , The Lizard, Norman Osborn , or even Electro, in the future.

Those are classic Spiderman villains, so there's no way Sony and Feige weren't gonna get to at least some of them eventually.

So its not super surprising that Electro would be used again.

What is surprising, is that they're getting Foxx back to play the role again.

Gonna take a stab in the dark and say this is because Sony eventually still wants Sinister Six and Foxx is too a big name to waste.

I assumed this was from some WGTC or some other garbage site and was shooocked to see it was THR.

I like Jamie Foxx but I wasn’t a fan of his Electro, so I hope he’s playing a newer/better version of Electro
