World Spider-Woman's Origins

So I was reading up on Wolverine's obscure and discarded origin of actually being a mutated wolverine. In that article I saw a mention of Spider-Woman (I've read quite a few Spider-Man comics since last posting here, btw).

Turns out Spider-Woman had an origin much like Wolverine's: she was literally once a spider that the High Evolutionary evolved into humanoid form. Stan Lee was "disgusted" with this, so demanded they change her origin.

Call me crazy... but I like it. It's a step into the unique and unheard of, in a good way. Anyone else?
