Comics Spidey in Ironman #14

So, apparently they go at it again in the latest Iron Man issue. Anyone have anymore info/details/scans on this?

Basically Cap's buddies try to jump Iron Man. Iron Man and Spidey have a very short fight. Iron Man owns Spidey, since he screws with his Spider-Sense (thanks to the Iron Spidey-suit).

Yeah... thanks to data gotten from the Iron Spidey-suit, Tony can now replicate the spider sense, so he's got one of his own, but he can also neutralize Pete's spider sense, as well as send false positives (making him believe there are threats where there are none). So Spidey, being pretty much overwhelmed by the situation got his ass kicked in a few seconds...

Who has Spidey actually beaten in the past few years...? Nevermind. I started a whole thread about this earlier.

Ugh. I'm sure Firelord and Juggernaut will show up soon wanting to settle the score for losing to Spidey in the past. Waiting on it.

Well, to be fair... during this particular showdown I thought it was the obvious way for the fight to go.
The fact that Iron Man was getting info about Spidey from the Iron Spidey suit had been set up (Iron Man "mysteriously" knew about the spider sense).
Now, Spidey fighting Iron Man in a situation where his spider sense is no longer warning him when Iron Man's about to strike, while giving him false warnings as rather effective distractions, and while Iron Man has his own frickin' spider sense allowing him to dodge any attacks from Spidey, makes for a logically short fight.
Sure, if the next fight is just as short now that Spidey knows about all this... then I'll probably be a bit miffed.

I seem to remember saying from the very outset of the Iron Spidey suit that Tony had it bugged 6 ways to Sunday.Every body function of Peter's was being monitored by that suit.The only saving grace for Spidey vs Iron Man is that , his new powers seem to be evolving(Sensational #33). Maybe at some point Tony's data will be outdated.But I would have to agree that lately it seems that Spidey's powers are so in flux? his fighting skills are out of wack.

Such total bull****. Spidey's spidersense, on top of all other things even his wallcrawling is one of his most unique and mysterious abilities. This whole thing is leaving me with the same nasty taste in my mouth that put me off of comics for almost 10 years, way back during the first "clone reveal". Just when I am getting back into buying and reading Spider-man again.

wait, wasn't it explained that his spider-sense was a result of the whole spider-totem thing and not a biological ability or am I just making that up? plus once Tony explained what he had done wouldn't Peter would have immediately stopped relying on his spidey-sense? I know it might be hard to ignore but it's not as if he hasn't had any experience fighting without it.

Ironman replicating Peter's spider sense? That is total nonsense. What is next? Ironman is going to replicate the ability to use the power cosmic? Just chalk this up to another long list of idiotic storylines. I guess MU couldn't allow Peter to actually have a victory over someone for once. Look out Peter, Stark's butler Jarvis may kick your ass too.

Maybe Spidey's defeats will be setup to his regaining of the alien costume? After many horrible defeats, Peter attracts the Venom symbiote and bond with him again for more power!

I can't wait for every Marvel character's movie to come out so Spider-Man doesn't have to totally job to every hero to get them over anymore. I mean, Iron Man's armor and genius does make him one of the top heavy hitters in Marvel but Spider-Man,unprepared or not didn't need to go down that easily.

This is what I see happening: It's the last battle of the civil war, Spidey is getting owned, until he hits Venom, the suit some hows get cut in half and quickly covers Spidey, Spidey being able to be immune Iron Man's Iron sense, Iron man will then get owned badly, and then Spidey will steal ultimate venom's move where he hurts the spidey sense, so that Tony would turn it off, and then Captin America would finish him off, while Spidey goes back to pwning people.

No one knows the spider sense better than Pete. This "advantage" could quickly turn into a disadvantage, particularly since it's being emulated with software rather than a biological function.

I love Spidey as much as the rest of you guys, but realistically, thats pretty much what would happen. Tony Stark could find a way to screw his spidey sense. It's happened a bunch of times before. Hell the Green Goblin did it with some chemical and i dont think they ever explained how he knew Spidey had a Spidey sense in the first place.

Iron Man, in pretty much every suit for a couple decades now, is at a class 80 strength minimum. With the amount of times he's taken on so many bruisers, he'd have to. I do think its rediculous that Parker was Tony's ***** for so long, but lets be honest here. One of Starks beams could easily take out Pete if he was distracted, which he clearly was. Hell, that one punch would have been enough. If anything, that fight in ASM was bull****.
