I don't care about football, and that's not what this is about...but:

NEW YORK(AP)—Former New York Giant Plaxico Burress pleaded guilty Thursday to a weapons charge and agreed to a two-year prison term for accidentally shooting himself at a Manhattan nightclub.
The ex-wide receiver pleaded guilty to one count of attempted criminal possession of a weapon, a lesser charge than he initially faced. Under a plea agreement, he agreed to a two-year prison sentence and two years of supervised release.

Stallworth served 24 days of a 30-day prison sentence after pleading guilty to DUI manslaughter. He was involved in an accident in March in Miami Beach in which his vehicle struck and killed a pedestrian, 59-year-old crane operator Mario Reyes.

Stallworth should've gotten way worse than that. It reeks of the Leonard Little incident that happen some years back. Plaxico broke a law and all, so I guess his punishment fits. I feel a little bad since he Cheddar Bobbed himself. Stallworth's case is terriblethough. People keep screaming about Michael Vick and some damn dogs when Stallworth irresponsibly killed someone.

The Family of the guy Stallworth ran over agreed with the sentence so I don't care so much about it

Well, it's like Howard Stern was talking about on his show yesterday. All these athletes, movie stars, and rock stars/pop stars get way more special treatment than the everyday average person.

His point was if Michael Vick, Stallworth, or Burress were just working as janitors in an office building and got convicted of the same crimes they would have: 1.) Gotten much more harsh prison sentences. 2.) Never have been able to get their jobs back for the said crime when they got out of jail

Vick and Stallworth, from what I believe, both have been reinstated by the NFL. And what about Vince Neil from Motley Crue? He did the same thing that Stallworth did and basically got a slap on the wrist.

This lovely American society we live in has too much hero worship on people, who quite honestly, do not do that amazing of things. It's forms of talent but I don't think it's worth millions of dollars and getting out of trouble.

I don't know about Vick if he had more street cred i doubt his coconspirators would have rolled on him at the first opportunity. Stallworth killed a guy who was jaywalking on a busy intersection while it was dark. And the guy's family signed off a his light sentence.

I'm with you. They had no problem agreeing to the deal their lawyer worked out with Stallworth's lawyer. Why should I have a problem with something they didn't?

I do have to say that the sentancing for Stallworth does seem pretty light.
