Star Wars: The Clone Wars

That looked very nice, but doesn't it cover the same ground as the previous Clone Wars series, what with Grievous and Asajj Ventress? I wish they would have gone forward and had Darth Vader, the beginning of the rebellion, stealing the Death Star plans and so on.

Wow this looks great & if I had to guess with Grevious in it & stuff it is a new take which I wouldnt mind at all.

This is the stuff they're producing out of the Singapore studio?

looks great, but im a little let down by the look... some characters are SOOOOO stylized (yoda, the humans) while others looks much closer to the movie (troopers, general grievous)...

i wish they pushed to style a little further in some places...

having said that, the motion and action looks amazing, and I cant wait for this!

well a lot of the storm troopers and grevious were CG anyway so its realistic they would be closer to their counterparts in the movies

did they use the movie model for yoda?

im not saying the look is bad or that i wont watch or any annoying false claim like that...

im just saying, based on that trailer, the style of the show is really inconsistent... its trying to straddle the style of the 'clone wars' cartoon and the movie designs, two looks that have NOTHING to do with one another...

im pretty sure you cant disagree with that reality, whether you look @ it as a negative or not.

looks sick, I dod agree with you about the designs though mattchew.

shame they are doing more on the clone wars tbh though, we have already had 3 movies and 2 cartoon series from around that period of time.....I'd rather have some old stories set before episode 1....stories set inbetween 3 and 4....or after jedi, just featuring cameos from main movie chracters depending on which timeline...(r2, 3po, yoda......) or id rather have something featuring luke, han and the gang since it is animated wouldnt need the actors.....heck hamill is a voice actor now

^agree...

i did a lot of b!tchin, but i gotta restate, I CAN WAIT FOR THIS. looks great.

I guess it looks alright. Visually, I prefer the Cartoon Network Clone Wars over this. It also feels like we're just treading the same ground again, like a lot of people here, I just wish they'd move on already and try something new.

Hopefully after The Clone Wars ends, we'll get the New Republic cartoon that's in that fan made trailer.
I could even see Mark Hamill voicing Luke.

it will be good.....but 100 more episodfe of the clone wars........ffs move on already we have had more than enough clone wars

Think of it this way- the 2D animation was the bare backbones of the wars so we understood going into episode 3 now we are going into more detail. Really in 3-10 minute shorts we can only see so much character and in the end the makers went for the cool stuff rather than the story like fisto and underwater lightsabers, mace in the desert etc. It was only volume 2 and the longer running time that we got the good stuff when it came to anakin.

i will watch every f-ing ep of this and buy them on dvd, but i kinda do agree that the clone wars are less vital, now that 'sith' is out.

looking amazing, cant wait for more, i guess were looking at a Fall 2008 release...

Ugh... Why did it have to be CG? The character designs looked 10x better when they were hand drawn. Now they just look cheesy. I can't believe how little respect people have these days for hand drawn animation! :(

I have the other 2 clone wars DVD's as well but i didn't see why they didn't wait and put them on a double disk release. The comics have been doing clone wars stuff for a bit as well like we find out asajj ventress never actually died and obi wan goes and hunts her down despite anakin saying he killed her.

CGI's the craze these days...we already got 2 volumes of a "classic/hand drawn" animated Clone Wars series...time to move on to a more ambitious design.
