Steam Machine has no use for me (or you ), but it does look like a nice SFF PC with Linux/SteamOS.

So I was intially excited by this news but after it's been a couple of weeks, I'm not really sure to think of it. To me it initally given the specs it seemed like this was something geared towards people with average PCs and/or console players. But based on interviews and released information, it seems like the price may potentially be higher like $700+. I realize that parts are expensive thus part of the appeal is it comes with everything you need but eh...At that point I feel you might as well build your own PC since you'll have more freedom for customization.

I guess I just don't know who this is made for lol. I was hoping it was something aimed at me, primarily console gamer who has never had a great PC thus never bothered with PC games but it doesn't seem like that's the case.

Considering RAM prices have skyrocketed the past 1-2 months (and GPUs and SSDs soon to follow in the next year), the Steam Machine is looking like quite a decent pre-built PC...

Oh no I totally get that. I'm just saying as someone who is super casual about PC gaming, this doesn't really do a whole lot for me. Which is why I'm probably not the audience for it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I'm still waiting for Steam to get BioShock and the Arkham games to work on Proton. I can get Asylum to open the configure window, but after that it crashes with an error message of missing files that it's looking for.
