One stingray did that to Steve...and it was like the third human death from a stingray in all of Australia's history. Revenge won't bring him back. It's pointless. And really, animals act by instinct. Obviously the ray felt it was in danger. You can't exactly blame it for doing what it did. It was a tragic incident. No more. No less.

Amen. All these people killing them are simply de-railing everything that Steve Irwin lived for.

I'm never touching a stingray again after steve incident let alone kill them

This thread title is all wrong; Steve Irwin is dead and has nothing to do with this. Nor would he want people to engage in such foolish behavior. The animal just made an overreaction to his presence, and had he been struck in any other place this freak accident would have never occured. That's like the chances of being gored by a pufferfish- slim to none. Mr. Irwin just had the misfortune of getting the short straw.

Seriously, these are people who deserve to get Chuck-Norris-roundhouse-kicked in the head.

i don't even care, this is the coolest thing i've heard all day.

SCREW YOU STINGRAYS!

so people killed a few stingrays, big deal... there's plenty more.

Get yer side burns on, we're getting on my boat and going a huntin. :cmad:

I do hate stingrays now... but no... this is wrong. Leave the innocent ones alone. Find the murderer of our beloved croc hunter and kill it, not these other ones.

Steve is rolling in his grave.

Looks like the stingrays are about to strike back:

Stingray leaps into boat, stabs man in chest

MIAMI, Florida (Reuters) -- A leaping stingray stabbed an 81-year-old Florida boater in the chest, authorities said Wednesday, leaving its poisonous stinger lodged close to his heart in an incident recalling the one that killed Australian TV naturalist Steve Irwin last month.

Fire Department officials in Lighthouse Point, about 30 miles north of Miami, said James Bertakis was in a small recreational boat with two grandchildren Tuesday when the spotted eagle ray leaped aboard and struck him.

"It's just a real freak thing," Lt. Mike Sullivan told Reuters, saying the incident occurred on Florida's Intracoastal Waterway, where stingrays are rarely seen leaping in the air.

"For an 81-year-old man he's in really good shape," Sullivan added, saying Bertakis was expected to make a full recovery after surgery at a local hospital to have the stinger removed from his chest.

"Crocodile Hunter" Irwin, 44, died when a stingray's stinger punctured his heart off Australia's north coast last month. It was one of only a handful of stingray fatalities on record.

I love how some of you people are freaking over dead stingrays. They are pieces of meat that swim. They don't love, they don't care about anything.

Animal activists. Hate them all.

Do you think stingrays have a television show called "The Man Hunter?"

man I should really stop drinking in the morning...

How do you know? Are you privvy to the private thoughts and feelings of stingrays? For all we know, stingrays love and care more than anything in the whole world.

.. So what, Cyclops? Who gives a **** if a few stingrays are killed? Nobody.

I was in love with a stingray, once. It was beautiful. Her heart was so big and she loved me so much. But...we were from two different worlds and it tore us apart. :csad:

Nobody except for conservationists and animal rights activists and whatnot. And people who don't care for senseless, pointless violence against anything, regardless of whether or not one of their species killed a celebrity in self-defense.

So let's correct your statement, then, shall we?

That's more accurate.

I too, once had an experience with a stingray. Though it wasn't romantic. We had a conversation about life, existentialism, and George Harisson music. The stingray's insight about "All Things Must Pass" was mindblowing. He really loves that album, and cares enough to talk about it in depth.

There's nothing wrong with making love to a stingray, all of you stop being racist.

She....she loved 18th century poetry and synchronized swimming.... *sob* :csad:

I knew it. Irwin's death was the start of a gang war with the stingrays. We should never have intruded on their turf.

since when can stingrays jump???

Animal rights activists, most of the time, are completely insane.. IMO.

See? I'm learning.
