Stiller and Cruise are Hardy Men?

Oh I hope this comes true, I'm in love with the idea already.

On a side note, does anyone know if Stiller is still doing that comedy with Jim Carrey?

Haha, now THIS is a funny idea. :D I think, if done well, this could be a really cool concept. Since Hollywood is devoid of original ideas these days (cough**Barbarella**cough) at least with this they could take an old idea and make something fresh and new out of it. It would be cool if they had a grown-up Nancy Drew in the movie too, with the Hardys competing for her attention.

Dollars to doughnuts, they'd cast Stiller's wife, Christine Taylor. Not that I'd mind, of course!:woot:

Haha, yeah that would actually really work. Especially if the way they resolve her story is something similar to the end of Dodgeball. :word:

More movies should end like that!:woot:

Sounds intersting.

Cruise is really a good actor, it's just his dumb scenes during talk shows

How the hell does Shawn Levy continue to get work? The man is a terrible filmmaker. He must be good at selling himself.

Oh yeah, I'm gonna be first in line for this:woot:

The ND idea would be funny:woot: But They do{or did} already have girlfreinds. And their fat freind....and that chinese dude....

Stiller and Cruise are Indeed Hardy Men
Source: Variety
February 13, 2007

Variety has confirmed last week's TMZ scoop that 20th Century Fox has set Ben Stiller and Tom Cruise to play sleuths in The Hardy Men, a Shawn Levy-directed action-comedy based on mystery series "The Hardy Boys."

Stiller and Cruise have also been actively discussing a potential team-up in Tropic Thunder, the film Stiller will direct next for DreamWorks. The trade adds that such an alliance would be ironic, given that the film would be distributed by Paramount, the studio that unceremoniously severed its long-term deal with Cruise after Viacom chairman Sumner Redstone publicly rebuked the star.

While Tropic Thunder is in the talking stage, Cruise and Stiller are further along on The Hardy Men, which Fox hopes to put into production by 2008. The film marks a reteaming of Levy and Stiller, who are coming off Fox’s holiday blockbuster Night at the Museum.

In the film, the Hardy boys, once wunderkind youth sleuths, have grown up. Long estranged, they're brought together to solve one last case.

Fox is hunting for a screenwriter to do a rewrite.

Yay!

The only part I hate is that Cruise is in it but oh well.

This could be the start of something:

Burns and Allen

Crosby and Hope

Abbott and Costello

Martin and Lewis

and now

Cruise and Stiller

Maybe they can redo the Road pictures next.

You forgot Swartzenager and DeVito

I'm surprised Stiller would make a movie with Cruise.

I'm even more surprised to see Stiller actually approach Cruise to do a movie together. I'd be worried about the stigma of Cruise being a Scientology freak taking away potential box office. Although it seems that Cruise and Stiller are friends, and maybe Cruise decided to do this just because Stiller requested it and they wanna remain friends.

It would be much more funnier if the script had Stiller playing the more popular Hardy boy and Cruise being the down-on-his luck guy, rather than the other way around (maybe it'll be that way when the movie enters production). Although it would be hard to accept Cruise as a down-on-his-luck guy...

was cruise ever in a comedy? i would love to see tom in a comedy with stiller.

for a second, i thought the title of this thread was "Stiller and Cruise are HARDLY Men" :wow:

I was just reading an article about the film in Entertainment Weekly, it really sounds promising. Levy said in an interview that they wanted the film to be more like films like Midnight Run and Mr and Mrs Smith rather then a Starsky and Hutch farce. He said this film will be more about sibling rivalry....I really like the sound of it.

im excited for this.

Sounds interesting but I heard Mr and Mrs Smith wasn't that great either....
