Stuck in Florida for a week...need HELP

I'm trying to get AWAY from theme parks lol...but thanks alot for all the suggestions guys i'm gonna defintly look into all these comic shops and take pics of my travels lol.....

Also what about movie theaters and does anyone know of any open mic nights at any comedy clubs?
Might as well take the show if I'm on the road .......

Well...DisneyWorld is like a little city...its bigger than you think. And how lenient are your parents? Will they let you leave Disney city limits? Again...its pretty friggin' huge. I've been there 4 times in 20 years...5, 10,15, and 20. And it gets bigger every year. You need transportation passes just to leave the park...they've got a massive transit system...so, by bus, trolly, mono-rail or even boat...Its more than just the Magic Kingdom picture shown in every single commercial or pictorial. I'm telling you it could be fun...so until your old enough...and I'm guessing your 18 or under...to explore Orlando on your own...I'd stick with staying inside the park...there are plenty of people who are gonna be thinking the same thing as you...its a b.s. family outing at a place only children can enjoy, I've had those thoughts before, the trip when I was 15 comes to mind, but when I was 20...I was stoked, and that time I really enjoyed, probably just as much as I did when I was 10 if I could remember it clearly...sh** maybe you'll meet someone, or make a new friend. Maybe you'll enjoy yourself. I know people my age and older who have never been to Disney land or world...that would love to go...and we're all in our 20's...its not like you can grow out of it. I'm just trying to help...its a life experience, and your gonna waste it on..."yeah...I went there before, it was boring...I wanted to see Orlando and hit up a comic shop...but..." That is the boring part...and Orlando isn't the type of city people go to just to see the city itself...there are places like Universal, Disney, Bush Gardens...but outside of that...its just another city in Florida. This isn't like visiting...NYC, Boston, LA, San Fran, Chicago...its Orlando...and if anyone from any of those cities ever had to go to Orlando...they'd be going for one reason. Jesus I sound like friggin' spokesperson for Disney...
'F' it I'm out....have fun man. Enjoy the comic shop if you find it.

I'm 24.

lol.... I'm pretty sure I can handle myself ;)

Thanks alot man..I'm not saying I won't enjoy it. I'm a guy who can and has gotten into his fair share of mischeif but I'm also gonna wanna explore a place I've never been to before. It's just a part of travel man.

Hey man it is no problem at all. Thanks for all the help and suggestions....

I already have a big list of things I wanna do, hitting up a couple comic shops is just one.
So any word on any open mic nights at any comedy clubs? And what type of cereals you guys got goin state side? I'm talking capt crunch with crunch berries, fruit brute, frankenberry, cookie crisp...the good stuff man. I think theres good money to be had in a cereal smuggling biz.

I'm taking pics so I'll be posting them here when I get back to let you guys know how my adventures turn out.

And it's never a problem to be all over the boards....I barely sleep so I'm either on here (hence how I post so much), my myspace, or other sites.

I've never been to Disneyworld or Disneyland...
My parents suck:cmad: :csad:

Neither have I, but my parents were great. We didn't have enough money for my folks to afford to freight 6 kids from Canada down into the lower have of the U.S.A. Instead they rented cottages on lakes. We had great summers swimming, fishing, roasting marshmellows, telling tall tales, catching frogs, etc.

If you want to go so badly, save up your money and TAKE THEM!

I remember the 1st time I went to Epcot probably in the late 80's and I remember how disappointed I was.

I went to DisneyWorld a few times after that.
Next time was MGM Studios only.
After that it was MGM Studios and the Magic Kingdom.
Last time it was Epcot, Animal Kingdom, MGM Studios and Magic Kingdom.

I have to say that most of Epcot's rides are nostalgic but they did add some cool rides such as Soarin' and Misson: Space and I definitelly enjoyed it more now than when I was younger. Plus they have nice places to eat there at the Nations of the World.

Maybe I'm just a silly kid at heart but I did enjoy going to Disney.

I did the Universal thing as well and I would have to go back since I didn't get to do all of Islands of Adventure while we were able to breeze through the Universal Studios tour in like 6 hours.

There are also 2 outlet malls in Orlando. One is more high end than the other.

While it may seem a lil hokey, you have to do like Disney, Universal or Sea World because quite frankly you are in Orlando. That's the reason you kinda go there. Like going to NY and seeing the Statue of Liberty.

The best reason to come to Orlando is because it's only an hour or so away from Tampa, where Busch Gardens is. :o

Ok so basically I'm gonna be stuck for a week at disneyland in sunny orlando florida but I'd like a day to get away and actually go do some sight seeing as the un-magical kingdoms got nothing for me.

so I need help on some of the local comic shops I should visit and other cool geek/nerd related things.

Hey, are you gonna be okay, little buddy? What a horrible, horrible thing for you to have to live through. I know it's no cake walk like Somalia, Beirut or Afghanistan but you have to be strong. Keep your senses about you, stay out of friendly fire and be safe. You'll make it.

Ooooookkkkkkk....wow your a real bitter person arent you? When exactly did you lose the will to live?

I've stolen stuff from there before.

"Yeah I lost a bag, its a black suitcase."

Sorry but I keep my sense of humor in a hollowed out hookers skull by my bed.

You'd know if you were in Florida.

The sexual area of Orlando and a major hooker spot

LMFAO!!!!!!!!!!

Well man in a few days, when theres a rash of missing hookers in Florida, you'll know I'm in town lol.

(Now knowing my luck there really WILL be a rash of dead hookers that week.)

If you're doing that simply to upset blind_fury, I'm okay with that.

whatever you guys do, don't move down to Fort Myers... it's the biggest bore in the country, IMO

Guess there arent many hookers in Fort Myers

Well I am back from my vacation in sunny Orlando, Florida..unfortanatly I didnt get a chance to make it out to any comic shops because apperently the only bus Disney has that actually goes directly to a cityscape is for employees only and I wasnt paying an insane cab fare.

Now I will say one thing..I am sorry to any Americans on here but you guys should all grow some balls and revolt and uprise against your "government" because any country that tries to force a 3 year old autistic child to go through customs WITHOUT a parent.....thats just f--king sad.

Why exactly would you take a Disney bus to explore the city and not a Lynx bus?

Also, I don't know if you've ever been there but Pleasure Island is for adults and in downtown Disney so you could've done that. I'm thinking that it's not your scene though.
