This reminds me of something Sinbad said in a comedy special about how some people take college for granted. "When I get to college, I'll do what I want because I'm grown, no...you're broke".

I guess some college students feel superior because their parents aren't around.

It's been all carrot and no stick for years with a lot of these kids. They have no idea about repercussions of their actions. Why should they do anything that merits respect when they get the rewards anyway? And why should they stop with undesirable behavior when nothing ever happens to them as a result? Parents let their kids get away with murder these days. It's pathetic.
