Teacher walkout cancels classes in W.Va.

Who's going to teach their kin?

So does this mean the rub 'n tug is closed down, too?

And why couldn't this have happened when I was in school? It'd have been great

My sister in law is a teacher in WV. I wonder if she did a walkout. WV teachers are the some of the lowest paid in the country.

"State officials said the average teacher earned $41,388 last year and has about 18 years of experience."

So it takes 18 years to make $41,388?? My sister in law doesn't come close to that, but she's only been teaching for 4 years. She went to school for 4 years to make $41k in 20 years. I went to school for 2 years and make that in my first year at my job. Teachers deserve so much more.

West Virginians get educations?? Lol, I live literally 5 minutes from WV, and could've thought otherwise :-P

Teachers on strike? That's ...kinda scary...

I live in W.Va. and this is the first I've heard of this.

:super:

They're upping the tuition at my college so the teachers don't go on strike.

A hell of a lot of people make a lot less than that and do just fine. I'm not saying teachers aren't underpaid, they are, but they aren't as hard up for money as they make it out. Not too mention that if they wanted to make six figure salaries, they shouldn't have gone into teaching. Teaching isn't about making money, it's about educating
