Suikoden I & II HD Remaster: Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Wars announced for PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC - Gematsu
Apparently this remaster is directed by Takahiro Sakiyama, the director of Suikoden V, which bodes well in a couple of ways (see bottom of post).
I had and played through these games on the original PlayStation and they're great. The two best in the series are II (PS) and V (PS2) with I (PS) close behind. Konami doesn't really develop new games these days but they've been dipping into their back catalog a bit. Perhaps the recent success of the previous Suikoden developers that went on to kickstart a spiritual successor named Eiyuden Chronicle inspired them just like seemingly Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night and the new Ninja Turtles game did to release collections. Maybe with Sakiyama directing there could be a future re-release of the prequel to I&II: Suikoden V or (less likely depending on the state of Konami not wanting to do new things) even a VI.

About
A hero’s destiny is written in the Stars.
The legendary Konami JRPGs Suikoden I and Suikoden II have now been remastered in high-definition!
The Story of Suikoden I
A once renowned hero turns into a violent tyrant, and an empire falls into decline.
A Liberation Army is rising up in an act of rebellion against an oppressive rule.
One by one the 108 stars of Destiny gather to shape the course of history.
The Story of Suikoden II
Our story’s hero and his friend Jowy are members of the Unicorn Youth Brigade, which participated in a drawn-out border dispute between the Highland Kingdom and the City-States of Jowstown.
A few months earlier, a truth agreement was signed between the two forces, both of which were happy to see an end to the fighting.
However, hidden under the momentary peace the fires of a new war continued to smolder…
