GTA4 and AC were NEVER exclusive. Sony never said that and neither have Ubisoft or Rockstar. MGS4 is different as its been reiiterated over and over by both Sony and Konami as being exclusive. Thats where the difference liesThere have been NUMEROUS rumors circulating forever, like with GTA IV.....and Assassin's Creed....etc.
p.s. awwwwwwww![]()
exactly when were GTA4 and AC announced as exclusives? Do you have any links or direct quotes? Ubisoft has said that they wanted to make AC exclusive for the PS3 but Sony didnt go for it. As far as GTA4, Sony stupidly passed up on that in favor of getting exclusive rights to a new IP to be developed by Rockstar. There were never any reports that either game had exclusive deals for the PS3. Anything otherwise was just fan speculationI love the "if it eventually gets announced for another system, then it was never exclusive in the first place" mentality that some people have developed here.
not saved on my PC, but I'll ahve to get back to you on thatDo you have any links or direct quotes?
Ubisoft: Assassin's Creed still a PS3 exclusive - Dated July, 4 2006
IGN: Assassin's Creed Loses PS3 Exclusivity - Dated August 30, 2006
Again, Ubisoft never claimed it was exclusive to the PS3. That was just an assumption that people made, that they never confirmed.Assassin's Creed is still labeled as a PS3 exclusive by many. It is only fair to say that Ubisoft has never made an official statement regarding whether or not the game will be exclusive, just that it's in development for the PlayStation 3.
and that was my point. Konami has released numerous trailers stating that fact as well as going on the record in magazine interviews and press conferences. None of that was ever done for ACregardless....Assassin's Creed wasn't touted as a PS3 exclusive the way MGS4 is still be advertised as.

However, Sony smartly chose to save their cash (which unfortunately, ended up getting spent on that POS Lair instead), so Ubi-Soft then announced the 360 version, which had been in development since day one. If Sony had sent them a fat check, they would have canned the 360 version, but they didn't.
exactly...Kojima has mentioned many times how Playstation has been good to the Metal Gear series and how he wants to honor that partnership by having some sort of exclusivity. there's always a chance that, a year or so after MGS4's release, it could be ported over to the 360 but up till now there are no signs of that. With MGS4 however, we've had it beaten over our heads time and time again that it will be PS3 only by both Sony and Konami. It's obvious that there's been some kind of deal between the two companies, and ontop of that, Hideo Kojima is fairly loyal to the Playstation format when it comes to MGS. The two scenarios couldn't be more different.
Who wants Assassin's Creed anyway? I prefer games where I don't just hold down R1 and X to do everything.![]()
