Hi, I was wondering if anyone else knew about the 1st Nuclear Man in the Superman 4? Before the movie came out in Australia, (I was 9 at the time) I bought a souvenier magazine from the newstand that had Superman battling a Bizzaro looking guy dressed in a black suit.

Apparently Supes kills it easily and Lex Luthor then creates the newer version which is the villain seen in the film.

Has anyone ever seen these scenes? They aren't on any DVD deleted scenes I've watched. I'm assuming it ended up on the cutting room floor and the magazine was made before the movie had a complete edit. But I've always wondered if Austrlia just ddin't get this version perhaps...

the deluxe version of Superman 4 should have those deleted scenes on there... I have that deluxe edition, and it does show those scenes that show the nuclear man 1 fight scene. you can also find that fight on youtube

I remember this too! I hadn't thought about it for a long time, though.

I just hate that those scenes were only in comic periodical magazines at the time.

I just can't quite remember which one came first
Firestorm the nuclear man or the one in superman 4
but i sure notice that the one from Superman 4 reminds me of marvel's Firelord.

^ I believe Firestorm came out first in 1978 and of course he later was in the Superfriends cartoon in 1984.

I prefer to think of the original "Nuclear Man" as Bizarro.
