Which is just one reason why I am very, very excited about this-- THR has announced that Universal has picked Cody to adapt the Sweet Valley High book series into a
movie. If you're not female and born in the 70s and 80s, you may need to be reminded that the Sweet Valley books were about California twins Jessica and Elizabeth Wakefield, and essentially served as introductory soap opera for girls whose parents were just relieved that they were reading. There's back-stabbing and romance and trickery and schemes galore, though PG-13 rated (or PG in the case of the Sweet Valley Twins series, which is where my addiction really kicked in).

Her involvement gives me hope that the film may be able to transcend its pulpy teen roots beyond the Babysitters Club/Bratz movie mould. I think Cody could be a very important voice for a genre which has traditionally been ultra-hacky and condescending and create well-crafted entertainment for the mostly ignored, yet incredibly important, young girl demographic. Why shouldn't they have their own uber-talent providing them with quality written films aimed at them?

I never watched the show(or knew it was based off a book). All I knew was that some Power Rangers were in it as the show was produced by Saban.

That would explain why on one episode I saw of this show it had Jason David Frank on there.

The only thing I remember from the show was the theme song. It annoyed me becasue all they said was Sweet Valley High over and over ending with this high-pitched hold on a note.

I know of the books...they were always next to the RL Stine books...seen 1 or 2 eps of the tv show....and the fine ass Daniel twins....I guess someone will have to discover a pair of hot twins somewhere

I love the fact that everyone that has commented so far hasn't read any of the books and apparently we've seen a total of about 6 episodes between us.
