Alright. Since i'm not even going to pretend that i'm finished with this, i'll post the current work in progress shot. If anyone has anything they want me to address with the picture, any problems, feel free to post em.

Wow, i'm really glad you like it, to be honest it was just something I tooled with a bit, It's basically just line hatching. just tighten the frequency of lines as it gets darker. I'll see if I can make a gif of what I mean. =)

i appreciate it. it makes sense what you said, but its just a really impressive effect to do that on the comp, imo.

thanks for the love you've been giving my thread, really sorry it's taken me so long to get round to returning the favour. but believe me i'm kicking myself now! you've got some great stuff here. esp like the black cat [very darwyn cooke], the streetfighter pic and the nick fury as a pirate [the texture of the leather on his belt and boots was really spot on... very impressive!]

r.e. what you said about having or not having a "style"... you most definitely have a style: there's a compelling and distinctive crispness to your lines which gives your art a wicked "look". yeah, you got a style, and a not entirely unstylish one at that. keep up the good work!

Alright guys. I've got a special treat today.
I conducted an interesting experiment. Some of you may remember the daredevil picture i previously posted in this thread some months back. Well i revisited it today, basically resketching it. trying to work out the obvious problems I had in the original, and trying to see how far i've grown as an artist. I'm almost satisfied with this now. I still need to tweak his arm, but i'll address that. and at some point soon i'll have it all cleaned up and colored.

I plan to get some stuff done. But being back in school taking Illustration and Design is killing every urge I have to draw (or do anything, for that matter) outside of school work.

I do attempt to sneak something superheroy into as many assignments as possible though. So maybe i'll get something back that I can share =)

Now. On to new things. I've started a new project that may or may not ever be finished. But here's the beginnings. Pose is lifted from a bruce timm drawing. 50 points to whoever guesses the character.

certainly timm knows how to draw sexy girls, but i'm always a little disappointed at how similar they are... lacking the individuality and character he so amazingly injects into his male characters. what do you think?

No, it's not Ivy, but you have no idea how ironic your first statement really is.

Yah, Timm is one of my heroes, but there's no doubt that all of his women are very similar. I wouldn't say it's to the point of Michael Turner. But it's close. Hopefully someone will guess the character soon. Then i'll go into detail about what i'm working on.

I've begun drawing the cast from Drawn Together 8 times, each time showcasing one of the respective styles the show is drawn in. Obviously i'm starting with Captain Hero's style, which is a Bruce Timm knockoff. I'm pretty psyched about this project. so hopefully I'll follow through and finish all 64 character drawings.

Started work on the next one. Keeping with Timm's style. The difficult part is trying to keep the character's feel the same, while shifting the style. I think i've managed that. But it's a tough call.
