I used to buy Metal Edge and Circus (does the latter still exist?) but now I just look through them when I'm at the book store to check out new bands. I read Revolver and Rolling Stones sometimes. I used to get FREE subscription to those two mags.
 
I'm sure Circus must still exist.
they are persistent....like cockroaches.

If you can ignore the cheeziness and the fact that Vince Neil just started singing the exact same Army march-"I don' know but I been Tol'...." type melody over every single song, then DR. Feelgood is a pretty cool riff.

Other than I like the slide part in the lesser known "Primal Scream" off of the Decade of Decadence album, but again, they're like Rage Against The Machine.....cool drums, cool guitar, whiny b**** moron on vocals.

Weren't they the first Glam Rock band who started the Power Ballad trend with Home Sweet Home? Without You is as sappy as it gets. I hate myself for lovin' it. *barfs*

Once again, I like the bands you've listed. And Motley Crue isn't that bad. Don't like Cinderella though. Even their name doesn't sound 'rock' or 'metal'. :down:

It's okay if you don't like Highway Star. It's one of their more well-known hits so just wondering if you've heard of it. I think Child In Time and Stormbringer are my favorite songs of theirs. Child In Time is so bloody long though.

Best Deep Purple song I've heard, and the only one I really Like-liked, was "Chasing Shadows".
It sounds really druidy, like a rocking druid who sacrifices willing blondes. :up:
 
Deep Purple are quite awesome. Personal favorites are "My Woman From Tokyo", "Knocking At Your Backdoor", "Smoke On The Water", "Highway Star" and "Hush".

"Perfect Strangers" is all kinds of awesome...it's probably the only Deep Purple song that I can listen to over and over again, regardless of the mood I'm in.

Like if Paul Revere and the Raiders accidently turned their amps up too loud.

As for Chasing Shadows... really like that one too and especially the lyrics.

Well, Perfect Strangers is the only song of theirs that I really even like...everything else is just "meh". They kind of blend in to the scenery, which is bad for a hard rock band.

I hope you downloaded stuff from "screamadelica" or " give out but don't give up"
otherwise it's not very good. the recent stuff is just offensive :down.
