I remember seeing some features on this one a while back and thinking it looked like it could be the next Skyrim but then it kinda fell off my radar. Lo and behold, it’s out now and the reviews have been hailing it as a masterpiece. Apparently it was made by a small crew (like 50 people) but it’s a huge open world RPG. Angelikatosh here describes it as a “Scrollslike and a Soulslike,” which pretty much sounds like the perfect game to me.

It’s a dark, gory high-fantasy RPG set in Avalon (the mythical place King Arthur was taken to after his apparent death). In this version, it seems that Arthur took the Britons to Avalon to save them from a plague. It’s set 600 years after the disappearances of Arthur and Merlin and the plague is now ravaging Avalon. So it’s a blend of Arthurian legend and its own original story. The creators actually made this into a tabletop game first and another video game so I think this is technically the third part of the series.

It seems like they really took the time to craft a lot of lore, snd they didn’t shy away from their Elder Scrolls influences (there are a lot of books to read in-game and the game even has its own take on the Lusty Argonian Maid series).

I haven’t purchased it yet since I feel like I should finish Oblivion and Expedition 33 first but this one looks very promising. What do ya’ll think? It’s pretty affordable compared to other new games.
