Why does the guy in the trailer spell out the abreviation? It sounds rediculous.

Just seen a commercial where he SAID teenage mutant ninja turtles. I was kinda shocked, seeing how everything has to be abbreviated anymore so kids don't have to read, or sound things out.

Lol, Quote of the day award.

The commercial I'd seen just said the abbreviations.

Yah I don't dig the abbreviations, but the new TV spots are nice.

IMO the abbreviations make it kind of cool. Make its fresh and even as a big fan of the originals I never liked saying the name. well I'd certainly have to whisper it if I was on the bus.
Now if only we could get NKOTB to get back together and make some new music it would be OTH!
KWIS?

Have they learned nothing from calling League of Extraordinary Gentlemen LXG?

and using Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV almost 15 years since the last movie is better how?

TMNT is ok with me :)

I don't have a problem with them using "TMNT" but why do they have to SAY Tee Em En Tee? Couldn't they just say "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles when the TMNT flashes on the screen?

It just sounds dumb, I mean, you don't hear Mikey yelling "Man, I LOVE being a Tee Em En Tee!"

You don't hear Mikey saying "I love being a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle" either...

Is this really worth b****ing about? :whatever:

I think "TMNT" is to help distinguish the movie from "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles", which is th 90s flick.

Just be glad they don't go by the name it goes by in Finland!

"Teini-ikäiset mutanttininjakilpikonnat" :wow: :wow:

Isn't TMNT the name of the movie? The old one was 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles', so this one can't be.

No....but you DO hear him say "I LOVE being a turtle." With the whole abbreviation thing he might as well say "Man, I love being a TEE!" just so he don't confuse the kiddies.

Who's *****ing? We're just saying it's dumb for it to be pronounced "TEE EM EN TEE" is all.

Upon seeing the TV Spots for this film, I figured the reason why it's been abreviated to just "TMNT" (or "Tee Em En Tee") was simply due to 'studio thinking' that the abreviated title would appeal more (and sound cooler) to their target audience who likely spend hours on the internet abreviating words anyways.

I don't think it's a huge deal. They want to introduce it as a Turtle film yet make it sound different than the last 3; as if a 15 year gap and it being a CGI animation isn't enough. Not worth my energy complaining, though. Hopefully it will be LEAGUES better than LXG.

Pun intended.

I like it being called TMNT. Saves me about 3 sylobols (sp) when I ask for the movie ticket...then again I'm sure the Orange Mikie Mask would give it away to what I'm wanting to see that night.

TMNT really ain't that bad

Still wouldn't mind the full thing though.

I know. I can only imagine what happened at the recording for the trailers:

MOVIE ANNOUNCER GUY: Okay, what do I have today? *reads over script* Mmm-hmm...wait, I have to say THIS? Who let their waterhead stepbrother write this?!

No one is going to call it TMNT when they ask for a ticket at the theatre. They're either going to say, "let me get two tickets for "Turtles", or "I need two for Ninja Turtles." I've been calling them just Ninja Turtles since day one.

i like the abbreviation... sounds cooler than the actual kiddie title.lol

and to the moron who said its gay... you're a moron.. ugh

I dont know, I was leaning toward TMNT..but I may go with your "Ninja Turtles" I don't know.
