This is barbaric. The kid isn't insane, if he were insane he would have strangled the kid and left it at that. But no, he choked him until he passed out, strangled him until blood came out of his nose and mouth, put a plastic bag over his head, then beat him in the head on the way to the trunk of his car before driving to his girlfriend's house to give her a ring. And to top that off, he enjoyed it.

I say put him in prison and throw away the key. With a picture of his little brother in the cell on his wall.

There was no profit to his crime and he turned himself in. He has no history of violence or anything like this. He's crazy, what other explanation could there possibly be? You kill you brother for money or something you're just a criminal, but you do it for no reason and then you just conduct your day with no remorse or problems you've got several screws loose.

He plead "Not guilty", which I'm assuming they will be going for the insanity plea. Most "due to temporary insanity" cases have the subject have a "moment" of insanity where they snap out out of it. This kid displayed more than a "moment" with the whole situation. In fact it sounds like he spent a whole afternoon dedicated to his "moment."

I'd say this kid is just throughly messed up, nothing temporary there. Imagine you kill your brother for no reason, savagely and rather than any remorse or problems that completely senseless act makes you feel better and you just carry out your buisness. Later you just confess to what you did explaining how there was no real explaination. That's crazy no matter who you are. This wasn't a crime of passion, nor of profit, this was a crime for no reason with no real attempt to get away from the act. I don't care who you are, if you ever take a person's life that messes you up at least at first. For this kid it was the opposite and this was his brother. I can't think of more insane behavior than what he's demonstrated.

That's not exactly typical. And the Columbine kids were clearly messed up considering their writing's and such. This kid has none of that. You've got a pretty normal kid with good grades a girl friend and then he does this. You don't just do this **** out of the blue, if you do you're crazy. This guy is crazy.

If it was simple self gratification with nothing else the way you state it you'd see a pattern there leading up the the event. Not a nice kid that's never hurt anyone and just snapped and went savage without issue. I just cannot think of something that would demonstrate insanity than this kid's actions without fecal matter being involved.
