INT. RESISTANCE HQ - ROOM - DAY
John Connor is staring out the window, observing the nuclear wasteland.
JOHN (V.O.)
Machine. I think it's one of the first words I spoke,
along with mommy. I have to show no weakness
or else her sacrifice would have been for nothing.
If I can't inspire people, then I'm worthless. I
can't allow them to see me like this. Not ever.
John tries to fight off tears; which don't even reach his cheeks before he wipes them off.
He looks at a rusty, beat up blender in the corner, picks it up.
JOHN
How the hell did you evolve into them?
EXT. STREETS OF LA - DAY
Blair is combing the area, armed to the teeth, along with Fred, another resistance fighter.
Fred turns on a handheld radar device. The radar speaks in a female voice.
VOICE
No threats have been found in the area.
FRED
I hate listening to this robotic voice. She lost
her sexyness long ago.
BLAIR
They are suppossed to remind us of humans, actually.
Mine sounds like a man. John's call.
FRED
What has he ever done? He's good at barking orders
but I'd like to see him out here in the cold y'know?
Blair grabs a pair of binoculars and spots something big and robotic in the distance.
BLAIR
What the hell is that? We have to tell the others.
INT. RESISTANCE HQ - ROOM - DAY
John is reading some blueprints of the city. Suddenly, his wife walks into the room.
KATE
It's good to see you, you were gone for a month.
Don't I get a hug?
John embraces her coldly, never taking his eyes off the blueprints.
KATE
What is wrong with you?
JOHN
I have to, I have to study these plans.
KATE
You've been absent for so long and you can't even..
She has to stop for a second, a sad look on her face.
JOHN
Look, we've been in contact through radio. Every
single night. I was there, remember?
KATE
Yes. And your coldness stopped me from telling
you something. I'm about to have a baby.
JOHN
That's... I remember, I remember how the machine
predicted it. This is great news.
KATE
I don't believe it. You are just happy because
someone is going to continue your work, aren't
you? Aren't you?!
JOHN
This is more important than you or me, you
know that better than anybody.
KATE
This is all about you. I know that better than
anybody.
She walks out of the room.
John grabs the blender and smashes it into the wall.
Fiedel's Terminator theme begins to play. Cue credits sequence:
INT. SKYNET FACTORY - ASSEMBLY LINE
A staggeringly large group of endoskeletons are being assembled in detail.
