Yeah... Good luck with that Russ. This coming from a man who made his money fame and success promoting artists and comedians who have long used these words in their lyrics and stand up. Russel Simmons Def comedy jam anyone?

That's pretty much what I was thinking. At any rate, freedom of speech and freedom of expression shouldn't come to an end just because Russell Simmons grew a conscience and feels bad about promoting this sort of rhetoric...even though he got horribly rich off of it.

The reality is, these sorts of things won't change as long as they are viewed as "cool" by the artists that do it and the people who buy their output. The market is and should be the primary dictator of what is popular in the mainstream. If you really want to make a difference, give the consumers something they'll truly love even more than what's currently available, thereby obsolescing the rhetoric and linguistics that people like Simmons view as detrimental.
